I'm so lost...Where should I buy my FI ring at?

Recommended Posts

Ok I'm so lost should I buy his ring at a known Jeweler at the mall or a private jeweler at the mall? I saw this beautiful ring at a private owner jewelry store in the mall, I want to get it, but don't want to get gotten either, so what should I do? How did some of guys go about getting ur FI's ring?

After we got engaged, we went to the same place he bought my ring to shop for his. They were so helpful and willing to give us a great deal since we were returning customers and already given them business. I don't know about everyone else, but I would try to steer clear of malls. In my opinion, their stuff is way over prices. I would looks at independent jewelers in your area, and ask around. Someone always knows someone, kwim?

We got our rings and the same place FI bought my e-ring. I don't know if it was a better deal, but we both agreed that we wanted Canadian diamonds. FI's ring was $489 and my band was $249... I'm really not sure what wedding/e-rings cost because we only looked at the one place. I think the rings were the one thing we agreed that we didn't want to cut back on. It's something that we will have forever and remind us of our love.

If you aren't sure about the quality then I would steer clear. Unless you know someone else who has bought from that place, maybe they could help you or if you know someone who knows about jewellery.

We actually went ring shopping this weekend. We went to lots of places because FI had never tried on rings before and I wanted him to see a wide selection so that he would find the right one. We visited private jewelers, more commercial jewelers (like Jared's which we both HATE), and even some mall jewelers. FI found one that he liked at a private jeweler and one at a mall shop.

In my opinion to know that you are getting a fair price you just have to look around in your area. We are also looking online, so who knows where we will end up buying!!

Happy hunting!

We went shopping at a mall that had 8 stores to look in, just to try on a bunch of rings and see what was out there. It was really fun and we felt like we got to know the prices. We looked on line too! My husband had no idea about what he wanted. This was super helpful for him!

Good luck too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
