Anyone married at Iberostar PC or Catolonia Bavaro - Can't Decide!

Recommended Posts

Hey there ladies,

I am hoping to get married in late Dec 2009 in Punta Cana. I have never been there, I went to an all inclusive for the first time this year over New Years in the Mayan Riviera and had an awesome time (with my new fiance :)) . I chose the DR cause there are fewer restrictions on marriages and I have heard great things about the beaches (wasn't 100% happy with the beach in Mexico where we stayed; also DR seems to be more economical). I was already told by Dreams PC that they can't book our wedding, must be a popular spot during my limited time frame (we are both in med school - no time off except 2.5 wks at Christmas!). My TA recommended Catalonia Bavaro resort, but there are very few reviews available. Has anyone here been there, or gotten married there? I was also considering Iberostar PC (any info about this hotel would be great also).

I basically want a nice hotel with good service, and good food - it seems like most hotels in this area that people choose fit that description (And not too huge!). I also want a WC who is on the ball, and doesn't screw up our reservations or requests badly...Other than that, I don't know how to chose! Any info you may have would be GREAT!! Thanks

-Stephanie

Hi Congrats, I am looking at the Iberostar as well. I went to see a TA today and she told me that this hotel is nice and ppl often go. I saw it has tons of resturants, as well as friendly to kids and has a night club, and nightly entertainment (that to me is important to me for the older folks) also its not as expensive as some of the other hotels

My fiance and I are getting married at the Iberostar Punta Cana and we have a great group of people going. I've heard great things about the resort and I've stayed at an Iberostar in Mexico before which was very beautiful.

There is another member on her whose handle is Copita and she has some great pictures and is tremendously helpful.

I can't wait to go down there! Whoo-hooo!

I am getting married at the Iberostar Bavaro in January 2010, and I'm really excited! The great thing about Iberostar resorts is that they have a one wedding per day policy, so you are the main priority on your wedding day and don't have to compete with other weddings for service. I've heard some resorts book up to 6 different weddings in a single day!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
