Moon Dance Cliffs

Heidi, the restaurant/bars do close at 11 pm, but that just means the staff goes home then.  The villas are stucked with alcohol, and Kerry just told us that people should put in late night food orders around 10-10:30 if they think they are going to get hungry in the middle of the night.  But again, the villas have snacks in them as well.  When we did our site visit, we just stayed in a normal room, but at the wedding we will be in the Poincina villa.... and we had our big partiers book in the 4 or 5 bedroom villas so they would be guaranteed alcohol post 11 pm.

I didnt notice meals at any set time periods when we were there at our site visit.  The sports bar seemed to serve food pretty much the whole day.

We booked our photographer early because we were told they book quickly.  As for the florist/baker/band, we did that when we were there for our site visit in March for our December wedding.  I do not think it was needed that early, but we just went ahead and did it while we were there.

It is a beautiful resort.   You are going to be amazed!

Hi Heidi - Glad to see there's some activity on our thread again!

I'm getting married at the villas this July and booked my photographer (sungold) last November and the DJ, the cake and the florist this past January during a site visit. I locked in the videographer around the same time as the photog and recommend that you do that first after looking at the different options (check out the blogs, websites and slide shows for each). Like Jacki said, the photogs seem to book pretty quickly.

Happy planning!

Thanks for all the info!

I have already booked Michael Saab as my photographer...he's pricey but I love his work, so I am forfeiting a couple hours to be able to afford him.  I figure that other people's cameras can capture the dance floor pictures, right?

I am getting so excited!  I wish I didn't have to wait so long!

Has anyone booked the Front Page band that Kerry recommended?  I am wary of hiring a band that I can't hear beforehand. Does anyone know how to get a video of them on YouTube or a demo audio of them or something?   Are there other bands that you have booked?

Also, how is everyone shuttling people back and forth?  Are you using the airport transfer offered by MDC, or have you found a different, cheaper way?

Thanks ladies!

I booked Front Page for my rehearsal dinner. I have a few of their demos, so if you want me to send them, just PM me because I don't think I can attach them to a response in the thread. I haven't found anything much about them despite multiple google searches.

I am using the transportation provided by the MDV to get my guests to/from the airport in Montego Bay because it's free!!

Lara - I think MDC/MDV recently changed their shuttle policy. It may no longer be free.

HMM - I haven't booked the band yet either but I've listened to the samples Lara has and think they're ok. I do have to decide soon but I've been asking around to see what else is out there. If I find anything good I'll let you know.

My undestanding is the shuttle is free for all-inclusive stays.  In my booking email, it states that transportation is included as part of the all-inclusive package.

When I was there for my site visit, Kerry said Front Page was good, but for younger crowds a DJ is better.  Just FYI.  So we are skipping Front Page.  HOWEVER, I do believe somewhere earlier on some thread people were raving about Front Page...

Hi there,

I booked Front Page for my wedding at MDC this past October. They were AMAZING. As Kerry promised, their sound clips don't do them justice. They were so authentic and wonderful. I would book them again in a heart beat.

Hope this helps.

Nicole

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
