Moon Dance Cliffs

Recommended Posts

Hi Jacki,

I am having a welcome dinner onsite.  I wanted the "wow" factor and a true welcome to Jamaica vibe, so I'm having the steel band play for two hours that night.  Kerri suggested that I not get the lighting package for that night (too over the top), so we won't be doing that.  After the band and food, it's just the iPod and fun.

I plan to have some type of "get to know you" ice breakers.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Another possibility is having a splash party and you and your guests can hang out at the pool.  They also have the sports bar with Wii and karaoke.  Are you looking to do something more formal?  Do you have any themes in mind?

For the actual wedding....I will have the guitarist for the ceremony and cocktails, light music (iPod) during dinner, and the fire dancer and DJ to end the night.  (Let's not forget the basic lighting package.) I considered the band that night, but I really just want to DANCE!!!!!!

Just do whatever feels right for YOU!!!  Your style, your day, your way (and your sexy soccer player can have a little say).  I think the wedding will stand out on it's own no matter what you decide.

Hi Jacki - I'm also changing things up by having different kinds of music. My guests will be at MDV for 3 nights. We're hosting a "welcome dinner and cocktails" on Thursday at one of the larger villas where we'll have a mento band play, Friday night for the rehearsal we're having a dinner on the beach with a live reggae band and Saturday night for the wedding we're laying down a dance floor on the sand, creating a lounge area on the beach and having a DJ. If your guests are staying in the MDC villas, maybe you could ask them if they'd allow you to host a dinner in the villa?

Just like Robin said, your wedding day will stand out and be fantastic no matter what!

OH MY GOODNESS.  For those of you having any second thoughts or worries, do NOT fret.  We just returned from our site visit.  Everything was absolutely perfect.  Kerry had appointments set up with every vendor we requested, and they were all very accommodating.  All of the staff knew we were doing a resort takeover wedding in December, and they offered us tons of suggestions on what they had seen work best at weddings.... We left so very happy.... And by the way, the FOOD IS UNREAL!  So so so so delicious.  So as they said to our every request "no problem, whatever you want" is exactly what you will get--- a stress free wedding of your dreams!

For booking the whole resort, we get the Pinciana Villa for free for 5 nights, and then the of course the free 5 course wedding reception, free paperwork/coordinator services, $100 credit for flowers.  We used a travel agent, but to do so again I would work directly with the resort.  The owner of the resort called me when I independently booked my site visit and gave me a really good rate for the weekend, so I think working with them directly you may get better deals.   But 5 nights free all-inclusive in a resort that has some of the best food I have ever eaten was sweet enough of a deal for me.  I am MORE than satisfied with my choice.  SO EXCITED!

Also, for those that were wondering about flowers... I know Floral Fantasies website leaves a lot to be desired, but meeting them in person was amazing.  I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted, but could never really find the exact picture and was not able to really articulate the specifics, but through my stumbling around the florist was able to recreate EXACTLY what I wanted.  She was super nice.  So no fret there.

Again, I cannot stop gushing about how on top of it Kerry was and how amazing the staff was.  From my site visit alone, I know our wedding is going to be perfect and I have absolutely no worries whatsoever!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
