Tanlines.. Anyone else concerned with this?

Recommended Posts

I heard that tanning does help with burning so I'm definitely going to try it. Where do you find PMLE?

Oh sorry! PMLE is the name of the skin issue I have - polymorphic light eruption.

I might look into those tanning wipes!

I have about 400 minutes at my gym for tanning, so I think in October I will start to pre-tan!
I am not too overly worried about tan lines, but I don't want to be pasty white or a burnt lobster (like my last time to Mexico), so I think this is a safe bet.

Here is my first tropical destination 2nd day result (SPF 60 once and then SPF 15 does NOT cut it. I learned my lesson and in Cuba I didn't burn at all.  I used SPF 60 every 1-2 hours there)

I learned as well this past time in Mexico.  With the skin rash, I found a cream I have to put on every 2 hours, along with broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen.  I timed it so I went swimming every 2 hours and then reapplied.  I still got quite tan with all the sunscreen and never got a rash.

I've got a ways to go before my wedding but I'll save 2-3 weeks for some base tan and then I'll wind up with strapless tops.  I swear, no matter how dark I am when I go down, I always get darker so tanlines will always be a worry!

I don't think you can ever get away with tan lines! And honestly if your strapless swim suit sits higher than your strapless dress you still lose. So it's a tough one to win IMO.

In Cuba I put lotion on every 2 hours at least maybe more some days maybe less others and I came home with a sweet tan. No burn!

I'm not overaly worried about the tan lines but will work hard to prevent the burn! Glad you figured out the rash bit as that doesn't sound pretty either!!!

I tried on strapless swimsuits yesterday. Umm ya not for my chest size. No support.

I'm starting my base tan a couple months out. 2-3 weeks isn't enough for me as I can only go for 5 mins top to start lol

@@calgarybride2015 wow! that looks like the first time I went to the caribbean as well, I put on sunscreen but I guess I went into the water too quickly. When dusk came around I started feeling like my legs were on fire and oh my goodness!! I had never been so burned. All of my backside was completely red to the point that I had a fever that night and almost fainted while eating. I could barely walk because it felt as though the skin would just rip open. It was not a good time.  So ladies, even when you put 60 SPF sunscreen on, wait a good 15 min to go into the water!

I'm definitely more concerned with not getting burned vs. tan lines. It not only looks bad on pictures but it really ruined a good 2 days of my vacation.

I also just tried on strapless swimsuits with no luck. Double d's, and two kids has pretty much ruined me from ever going strapless again. But I find halter style tops hold them up well, then I will just untie them when I tan. If I find some sort of miracle ultra strength strapless bathing suit I'll let you know :)

What about the push up bandeau from Victoria secret? I have the opposite problem, I look like a 12 year old haha but I find that one makes them look really nice and it has a nice underwire with a halter skinny strap in case you need it (which you can remove easily btw for tanning) and at least the tan line won't be too big if you do have one. I don't know if that would even work

I don't really burn, but I don't tan really either. BUT, just in case, I'll be going heavy on the sun screen and I'm thinking of looking into a strapless bathing suit, but I'll need some serious underwire. Murphy's law... somehow I will end up with them otherwise. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
