Are you giving bombonnierres?

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question:

In keeping with tradition, are you giving your guests bombonnierres at the reception? Or just small favours?

(The difference being that bombonnierres are usually more sunstantial gifts for guests. At at home weddings they can be picture frames, bottles of wine, etc. Whereas favours are little thanks-yous like candy, tiny bells, wedding cake in boxes, etc.)

At the destination weddings I have attended, we were given bombonnierres: a CD from one couple and a beautiful Mikasa crystal vase filled with sand and shells from another.

If so, what are you giving?

Looking for inexpensive ideas.....this is in addition to the OOTs.

Because we are giving out OOT bags we decided to give favours instead of bombonnierres. We are spending quite a bit of money on the OOT bags themselves so we thought that just giving a small favour would be fine.

We haven't decided what we are going to give yet. That is on our current list of things to do!

Same here. We are spending enough money on our oot bags so the favours will be small. Right now my two ideas are cigars for the guys and lipgloss for the girls......i'll probably tie an organza ribbon around both things. Hope this helps. I think at destination weddings when you do the out of town bags that a substantial gift at the reception is just a little over the top...over the top of our budget that is! haha!

We are giving small bells that have a tag that says "It is said to be good luck to ring bells after a couple marries. And keep it for later and ring for a kiss" with our logo on it. We're also spending alot on OOT bags so this was a fun option. We're leaving them on the chairs at the outside ceremony with our programs!

We're doing OOT bags and I have gifts for my MOH and flower girl as well as my Mum ...

Leaving the OOT bags on the chairs is a very good idea ... I'm a bit stressed about how I'm going to "surprise" everyone with their OOT bags and how I'm going to put them together and sneak them into their rooms without them knowing!! I may just have to put the FI up to a distraction on the first morning so I have time to run around with the maid and break into everyone's rooms. Hehehe

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
