Sandals Resorts DW Brides 2009 - Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua & Bahamas

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies,

I originally planned to have a rather large wedding here in Florida near my home, home. But I just found out that we are expected our first baby so we want to do a smaller, more intimate wedding, and also incorporate some vacation/honeymoon time in there before our lives change smile123.gif I don't want the stress anymore of having a big wedding or dealing with the details. And we may not have a chance to go on a vacation for a long while.

I'm going through the threads now. But I was wondering for those that are going the Sandals route, particularly Jamaica (although I haven't quite decided on a resort as of yet) what made you choose your resort location? What other options did you choose? I would like my wedding to be videotaped and some nice pictures, thats definitely a must. And maybe a nice dinner afterwards. It might end up being just me and my fiance, but we may have maybe 2 additional people. Not sure yet of that either. But we are moving our wedding date up, so with such short notice who knows who might attend..

Congrats on your engagement and your new addition to the family! We picked SGOR because we knew that we would have a diverse group of people traveling with us to the wedding. We wanted a larger resort with large variety of activities. We booked the twilight package (includes videography and a small amount of pictures) and our doing a three hour reception.

Hope this helps!

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Happy Planning!

Congrats on the little one!

Definately work with a Sandals specialist-someone whose been to the resorts, as each one is so different in terms of atmosphere and amenities! sandals is really great as they provide so much diversity with their properties that they have the perfect resort for whatever you are looking for!

As an example- some properties focus more on the beach, others are definately pool oriented. Some properties are very laid back and quiet, others have a a more active vibe! Some are more Caribbean in style, others have a more modern or European flair! The list goes on but I think you'll get what I mean!

I have clients that I recommend different properties for as you really do want the one that suits YOU the best!

You also want to be sure to get a great room ~ I know most people say your not in the room much but hey.....it will be your weddingmoon after all- you'll be spending some time in there :) !

I love Sandals as I know they are a fantastic value in the Caribbean- but there are still some rooms that need to be rennovated - you definately do not want to be in one of those.

Good luck and feel free to email me if you'd like to retain me to assist!

Welcome back & Congratualations! Didn't you just LOVE Beaches Turks & Caicos!

It's my favorite Caribbean family property- just an amazing resort!

It's been decided, booked, and paid in full!! Woohoo! We will be staying at Sandals Ochos Rios August 9-16 for our honeymoon. We will be comming from our DW at RPTB August 3-9. Our ceremony is August 7, 2009.

I can't wait for Sandals. We have booked a junior honeymoon ocean view butler suite with private pool.

Has anyone booked any xtras?

I was thinking of surprising my FI and booking a private dinner on the beach at Sandals. Has anyone ever done this?

Any other suggestions?

Out of curiousity, how did you get them to do that? I have a wedding booked at the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia in September...and no one from the resort that I have spoke to had mentioned that they do this...is this the norm?

Thanks, in advance, for your reply!

Chantelle

Hi Jennie,

All of the extras that I have booked so far are wedding related. However, we do plan on booking the private dinner on the beach one evening.

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
