What sort of table settings are you bringing with you?
Wow, tracey i just laughed when i saw that centerpiece! 125USD/each!!! That is so ridiculous. I just bought 72 votives from Cudge.net - Product Detail for like $60CDN. I figure they will already be packed for shipping, so if some break it isn't a big deal. I have 18 people on the same signature flight, so i figure someone will have room for an extra 22lbs!

My MOH has 8 of these white ikea lanterns that are lite and she offered to bring those down (http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/cm/g...rnsIkea-de.jpg).

Then i bought this green floral confetti from micheals (using 40% off coupons) https://store.gartnerstudios.com/pro...eounce499.phtm (mine is like candy apple green). So total for my centerpieces is well under $100CDN.

I am all about candles, so to me it will be fine. I almost didn't even go with centerpieces because of the stupid resort costs....

I also am bringing my own paper bag luminaries ($4/bag is stupid), and if i decide on tiki torches, i will get them at walmart or something. I mean they are like $2.00 CDN each, so not sure how the resort gets away with charging $8 USD just to rent them!

ANyways, that was my little rant!

Oh and in terms of luggage if you fly signature with skyservice the limit is only 44lbs/per person!!! It isn't much at all! And extra feels are like $20/kilo!

Yes, for 1 tall glass centerpiece, and 4 small glass square vases:

with orchids (available in white, green or fuscia): 125 usd
with iris (available in white or blue): 90 usd

thats her quote!! Let me know what you think if its to much after you look at the centerpiece sample... I think it is!!

Hope it works!
The centerpiece costs are stupid stupid stupid! I know they rent all of their pieces, but the prices they charge are outrageous. I think your centerpieces are very nice and are somewhat in line compared to what she has quoted me for other pieces:
- $10/ FLOATING CANDLE
- $7/ VASE
+ FLOWERS.

I would split them up and ask for the price per small vase, then for the large vase. Push back and complain about the pricing - she will move a bit. Also, I wanted flowers in mine, so I went to Walmart and bought a bunch of fake flowers for $8. I tested them at home and they look fine. I am ordering the vases from the resort and then will have one of our guests helps by putting the fake flowers in water so that they are decorated for the event.

She quoted me $5/ floating candle after I complained, but it was just too much, especially when she noted (many many times) that they would likely be blown out by the wind. So we are not doing candles. I wouldn't pay $150 for that centerpiece. Complain and see what she can do.

I love the scales...I think they are great for guests to weigh their bags on the way home after they have bought some souvineers from the trip.....we got them at the Bay and they were $29+tax. With the time you have you may be able to get a discount on them.

We only bought 4, so it was only $120 ish. We plan on meeting up with out GM and parents and giving them their scales before they are finished packing. I hope they like them. I played with mine this week and love it already : )

The max weight for checked is 20kg over two bags, carry on is 5kg and having read recent reviews the airline IS weighing carry on bags. That's for Skyservice though...I would go to the website for your airline and double check. They're so strict right now and the coss are carzy ($20/ kg!) Insane!

I have actually emailed her back today complaining about the cost.. it wasn't even the flowers I wanted so I don't know how she thought I wanted those flowers in those colors.. cause they aren't my colors. I am pushing her back on it I mentioned that I don't want to be spending more than 50 per centerpiece.. I mean come on I may only have 3 tables total anyways! I am not spending 125 for 3 tables!!! Yikes! So I said what can we do with the centerpieces to get them to come in around 50 dollars each.. so we'll see what she says!! This is so dumb!! How can they charge such outrageous prices for things!!! It drives me insane!!!

Yeah I wasn't planning on doing candles either.. I found these great submersible lights that you can put at the bottom in the water and makes the water glow your colors.. that is what I plan on putting in the bottom of mine...

Oh I know hey!!! Its crazy!

So have you paid all your final bills to them already? Cause they keep saying 45 days prior... but then she's telling me some things may need to be paid on site... that doesn't make sense to me?

Yeah we are finding out the info for our flights today as we are using points for most of our guests! Good thing for points I tell ya! We only have to pay for the land only pricing!

I went or am planning on going with one of their photos obviously I think I mentioned it on here before.. and Nicky said they were great so that works for me.. not having to pay for the outside vendor fee, thats one less thing I don't have to fork out money for!!! HAHAHA

My wedding is less than 45 days away and we still haven't made most of the choices let alone paid for anything... i think they just say that you have to pay that far in advance... i figure Carolina will start harassing me for decisions when i need to pay! I am in no rush obviously, the longer i wait the better for me (hello, tax return!)

Valeria is running my card tomorrow. Don't worry baout the 30/45/60 day payment term that they cite. It dioesn't mean anything. You can decide at your site meeting to change everything, or add anything. They're not going to turn down money : )

We ordered everything we wanted ahead of time, but anything we are iffy on we're going to try to add on-site. We printed off all of the pricing on the Lomas site so we have a benchmark. We're going to see if we can get the rose petal aisle runner for cheap, when we get there.....we'll see.

So...in a nut shell....pay when you want! One of my bridesmaids got married at the EDR in 2003 and planned everything when she got there.....they have 4days to order everything and, outside of the photog, I doubt they book anything farther than 4 days in adcvance anyways.

Wow...quite the busyy day on the forum today ; )

HEY GUYS!

About payment... I didn't pay until the day before I got on the plane... so don't worry about getting the payment in on time.. they don't care...

Photographer... from what I understand if you pay the big bucks ($2000) you will have over 1500 pics taken and 800 to chose from.. does anyone really need this many pics?? We are all worried about getting those couple REALLY GOOD ONES.. but for $800 and 400 pics, and REAL 200 pics.. there will be lots to pic from. I just printed my photoalbum for the reception on Friday.. and although I love looking through them.. most people will get bored by the time they get to the 30th photo, (I have 100 in the book... lol)

remember any questions, just ask!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
