KCDawn, I just heard from Cecilia on the gazebo lighting. This is what she sent, and now I'm even more confused on what to do: "We do have lights inside of the Gazebo but they are not so Bright" Basically I want the gazebo reception to look nice without spending a ton of money. I think colored lights would look cool in there, for dancing.

Hello CriCri

Congratulations for your upcoming wedding, we are the authorized vendors for Secrets Maroma, the video includes the ceremony and the studio at the beach. we don't have any Maroma's video on line because they are very heavy (they were done with professional equipment) but you can see a sample of our work, here you have a special highlight that we did there so you can see our work.

Regarding the sand ceremony, I can tell you that the minister includes it, in case you don't want to bring your own set. You can ask your wedding coordinator to get in touch with your minister so you can get the ceremony as you want, most of the minsters have the ring ceremony before the sand ceremony, but as I told you, you can get in touch with the minster to get everything set up the way you want, and ask for the text of the ceremony and vows. :)

Hope this information was helpful for you :)

Thanks for answering that for me.  It's so nice to have people with experience tell us how things go.  Otherwise we're all here fumbling about trying to figure things out on our own.

And thanks for the video!  I'm looking forward to your crew taping our ceremony!  How long does it normally take to get the video?  We're planning a cocktail party back home and want to be able to play it.  I just want to make sure we don't schedule the party too early.

The minister includes the sand ceremony, the vases are small to carry on and they have a cork so it will be easy to carry it. In case you buy your own vases, just be sure that they have a lid or something, so the sand won't spread out.

My reception dinner will be under the wedding gazebo, we will have only one table.

I don't think it will be dark, I have seen one picture with the table under the gazebo and the atmosfeere seems very nice.

We're having our reception at the Gazebo too.  I've read a lot of reviews and I don't remember anyone who had their reception at the gazebo saying anything about the lighting.   Are you sure it's dark?  It looks like they set up lighting outside around the tables.  Maybe that's enough to light up the gazebo because I haven't read anyone commenting on that.  That's a good point though.  I never would of thought of that.  No one will want to dance if it's dark!

Video package 1 is included in the ultimate package. If I wanted to upgrade to video package 2 will it only be an additional $78?- Price list do not necessarily reflects the Price of the items included in the wedding package, in this case the upgrade it would be of $108 usd

Hi All,

I recently asked Cecilia about when I need to make decisions on flowers, cake, etc. She said the sooner the better. I asked if I should wait til I arrive at the resort, she suggested to make as many decisions before we go as possible. That way she can get the contract written up and that is more time enjoying our vacation and less time sitting and planning. So I guess it is really up to you, but just maybe do what you can when you have the time.

Ladies, regarding the additional $5/person fee for the cake, Cecilia said that if you upgrade the cake from the standard wedding package cake, then you are paying for the cake so there is NO additional $5/per person charge.  I guess that makes sense since the upgrade cakes are all around $150 USD to $200 USD so depending on the number of people you have, it will come out to $5/person at least.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
