Can anyone tell us if the sand is too hot around 5:00 because that is a huge factor...I would imagine it is too hot (my wedding is in August)

I don't know for sure but as you said...I would guess that it's too hot too...I know it is at 3:30 but I guess it could possibly cool down before 5?

I was think the same thing. My wedding is June at 4:30pm and I was thinking the sand might be too hot. I want to go barefoot and also have my Bridesmaid do the same, but some are not comfortable be barefoot, so we might go with Flip Flop wedge. I am trying to find a really nice dressy ones with rhinestones, etc...

As far as the guys go I think as long as you get a nice brown/tan dressy sandal then you're ok.

            Good luck!
ooh, I love your flip flops!

If the guys are wearing Black suits I am told that they should wear shoes! About the guests, I say let them wear what they want! For the bridesmaids, I was just a bridesmaid a month ago in Santa cruz CA on the beach and we wore dressing mid calf and we went bare foot. The thing is I have been on the beaches in CABO and yes they are rocking and I had to wear shoes on some parts of the beach. So, what I was thinking is to maybe find some really cute sandels, at least for brides maids, flipflops I dont like with longer dresses. I hope this helps.

If I recall right the sand was not that hot at 5:00. I was at a sunset wedding and like I said I could walk on the sand barefoot. At least in the parts that were not that rocky.

Here's a pic of the one's I found on ebay Click the image to open in full size.

I really like them and they're super comfy so I'll be able to wear them all evening! There are lots of other beautiful wedge sandals that you can find...especially on ebay! Good luck!
