Who writes the THANK YOU in the sand?

This might be an odd question, but for all of the brides who have the photo where they are standing behind the "Thank You" written in the sand, who actually wrote that? We don't have any groomsmen, and I wouldn't want to ask a guest...and what do you write it with to make it look so nice?

I haven't done this yet....but I am planning to do this at my wedding in three weeks....I am planning to write it in the sand myself with a stick and then photoshopping out the footprints afterwards. I think its really hard to write it without having footprints. I'm guessing photoshopping is the best way to do it.

We took this picture & then used it for our thank you cards. Hubby wrote the "thank you" in the sand himself, with a stick that he just happened to find nearby & then our photographer took the picture. Funny though, there aren't any footprints showing in our picture & I'm not sure how we managed to not have any showing.
