  2. Sorry it took me so long to respond...I haven't been online that much lately. No, I didn't have any flowers for my reception. I just did sand with candles in vases and some shells laid out around it. A lot of it was borrowed from Sharon. I'm sure you could arrange to borrow something from her. Glad to hear your still leaning towards Club Med. If you need anything else let me know:) Kristina
  3. Nope, the coordinator at Club Med took care of the reception. Sharon didnt think that I needed her and she was right...the reception went smoothly. The only part that sharon helped me with was letting be borrow a few items for my center pieces. But the people at club med set up the reception perfectly and the next day all of my items were returned to my room. It all went really smooth. Hows your talks with Sharon going? Are you going to go with Club Med?
  4. Hi emily, Go to Digital Photo Printing, Free Online Photo Albums & Digital Photo Sharing - Snapfish: Username: [email protected] Password: clubmed and you can see all of our pics. I am in the process of uploading them onto photobucket so I can post them on here. The albums titled "....Kristina/Susan" are the professional pics edited. The rest our photos my guest uploaded. As for the cost. No, you don't pay for ANYTHING. Literally you show up and leave without EVER opening your wallet UNLESS you buy something from the gift shop or get some sort of spa service. Besides that you don't pay OR tip at all. So if you guest pay lets say $450 to go...that is all they are paying. There is no additional taxes or tips included. $148 during May is a great price. Not that much more than what our guest paid (110) in November.
  5. Hey Emily, Ivan is Sharon's assistant. To contact her directly email her at [email protected]. If you tell her your budget I'm sure she can work with you. It's all about your choices really. If you get married before you come to Mexico, its cheaper than if you get married there. If you have less bridesmaides and groomsmen than I did (i had three) then it will be cheaper for flowers. I also had 6 parents to get flowers for. How many guest are you having?? I believe it is $4 a chair...maybe they can stand for the ceremony to cut down cost. The mariachi band was one of the hightlights of our ceremony. Everyone loved them....they were $600 and really worth every penny. I'm not sure how you could do the IPOD for the ceremony. There are two options on where to get married...either the grassy hill or the beach. I was set on to doing it on the beach until I got there...then we changed to the grassy hill because it was so stunning. But there isn't any sort of speakers or anything up there, so it will be hard to do an Ipod or to have your friend sing, unless he does it without a mic. If you have a small group then you might be able to do it at the La Chispa bar. We had thought about doing that as well...but it was to small of an area for 52 people. If you did it on the deck by the La Chispa bar you could use the ipod hook up there and I believe they have a mic there. They have never done a wedding there...but when I was questioning it they seemed to be okay with it. The DJ we had for the reception really wasn't that great. He played good music, but wasn't good at telling everyone what was next...first dance...cake cutting...etc. But, check with Derek but I'm almost positive they didn't charge us for open bar for the reception because we used their DJ. But hey it might be cheaper if they do charge you for open bar than the DJ. If you cut out cocktail hour that will save you money too. I believe it was $4 per person for cocktail hour and that included appetizers. To save cost I would also not get the $250 wedding cake, but get the $100 (i think that was the lowest). No one really ate the cake. We did a cupcake cake and it was barely touched. They have so much other food and deserts to choose from. Also, I choose the $25 per person buffet.....There are cheaper options. Yes, there really is that much to do at Club Med. It really depends on how active your guest are. There is sailing, snorkling, skiing, wake boarding, dance classes, tons of workout classes (yoga, step, etc), flying trapeze, volleyball, kayaking, windsurfing, basketball, boccii ball, water aerobics, and then a bunch of other activities that change daily. At night they have a show which is your typical cabaret type show. The circus show is the best. They have live music out under the stars almost nightly and the bars are always rockin. After the main bar closes the party continues at the La Chispa bar which turns into a night club at night until 2am. There really is no point on leaving and going to bars in town. The alcohol is free and the party is great. They definitely have more of a swanky feel than a sports club feel. Club Med is an European resort. Everything is really European and top notch. Honestly, if you can make it work...you won't regret doing it at club med. Just talking about it now makes me miss it! I need to book another Club Med vacation! haha. I am thinking that my stay was cheaper because we got married out of season...November 1st. May is a really popular time. But 2,100 is a really good price for in season. How much will your guests rate be? Is it still $110 per person??
  6. Hey Emily, Definitely go with the Club Med Wedding. You will NOT regret it!! It was the best week of my life. The Club Med staff is there to make your wedding the most amazing day for you. They really make an effort to make you feel special and to make sure that your guest are all taken care of. For just the Wedding (ceremony and reception) the whole thing cost us $5,000. The reception with a 1 hr cocktail hour, DJ for 4 hours, open bar, food for 52, and a $250 cake was $2,800. The Ceremony with flowers for 6 parents, 3 bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen, my bouquet, my husband's boutonniere, 45 chairs and a priest (we got married in the states ahead of time) it was about $2,200. Sharon threw in the sand ceremony for free:) Of course the wedding cost us more than that after all of the gifts, oot bags and our stay(1 week....$1,600)...but if your on a tight budget you can cut back on those items. We did everything mentioned above plus rings and my husband's suit for under $10,000. For the rehearsal dinner and the Welcome dinner we just asked Club Med to close off a room for our guest. The main restaurant has many rooms...so they put a sign in the front that said it was for our guest and then put reserved signs on the tables. About an hour or so into our dinner they removed the sign in the front and allowed other guest to come in and sit at the other tables that weren't taken. It didn't bother us at all though...not that many people came in. For hair and makeup, I would first ask if any of your friends or family who are attending do hair or makeup. You would be surprised who has secret talents. haha. If you don't find anyone then talk to Sharon. She has a great person. She doesn't suggest using the club med hairstylist and makeup person. Sharon is AMAZING! She doesn't have a 800 number, but she does answer emails really fast and she is amazingly thorough!!! The airport transfer is 30 bucks per person, round trip. A taxi is about double that. It's actually a really good deal. I don't suggest leaving the resort. I never leave a club med resort, but some friends wanted to.... so we spent about 40 bucks to go to a flea market that was full of junk we didn't need and we were only there for about an hour. It was a waste of time in my opinion, but everyone is different....some people like that stuff. If you have any other questions please feel free to PM me. I just realized I never posted my edited wedding photos. I'll try to do it this weekend:)

  9. really? its made in china. Interesting. That's good to know. I guess that explains why everything is so cheap. Thanks for the info.

I wouldn't suggest getting them though....The ring bearer bag's zipper broke before he even made it to the airport! It was a cute bag, but as we learned quickly...it was really bad quality.
  14. One of the photos I really wanted to do was of us standing on the beach with the words "thank you" written in the sand. We ended up doing this photo during our TTD session....We could barely believe our eyes when we say this photo upload on to our computer..... The heart formed on it's own! This photos isn't photoshopped at all. Isn't that so crazy?

  16. Hi everyone! The OOT bags are from a place in Philly called "five and below" . I am not really familiar with the store....We were visiting my husband's parents at the time. But I believe they are all over the northeast, they might even have a website. Sorry I couldn't be more help. The following items have been sold: -The "I DO" letters -The starfish -The riveter -The Flip Flops -The Ring Bearer Shell and the TTD dress has been spoken for... should be receiving payment soon.

She had done an amazing job on hers...So I just made changes to what was different for my guest, etc. Unfortunately, I don't really have a template to post. If you have Adobe Illustrator I might be able to make something. I made our Guest Book in IPhoto. They make the best picture books around in my opinion. If you have Iphoto they are really easy to make and cost 19.99 for $20 pages I believe.... The place cards I made in Illustrator too. They turned out good...but the tray holding the starfish was to small so they were a little too close together. THere was a long line of people trying to find their starfish. So if I had to do it over I would have displayed them in a large tray or laid them out so they were easier to read.
