The WC at Tucan e-mailed me this picture. I was concerned with the location and amount of people that would be near when we got married. After seeing this picture I am very happy with choosing this hotel. I just wanted to share in case anyone else is considering this resort.

I am so excited to have it here!! We got great feedback from our wedding planner/ travel agent woth just went on a site visit for me- Catalina responds so quickly and is very flexible! I have 45 people coming.

I will let you know what info I have and how mine goes. I'm doing the wedding on the beach and closer to the water.. I chose a different wedding set up than the pic you posted.. I will see if I can find it for you.. Then a cocktail party in the jungle area and dinner in the Steakhouse resturaunt.. My travel agent recommended the Mexican or italian because of Air conditioning but my FI wants to wear shorts and flip flops so we have to do it in the more casual open aire resturaunts. She said the steakhouse would be the best bet. I showed her a pic of flowers I wanted and she said no problem and we will figure out the rest when I get there....

Goo luck to you

Let me know if I can help

I am pretty sure it is the same location. The same 3 kinda bent palm trees are right behind the alter thing. She sent me that picture as well, I think the difference is in the decorations. Canopy verses the arches maybehuh.gif?

What time are you getting married? Did you rent the disco?

We are going with the Tropical restaurant because it is closest to the beach, it isn't air conditioned, but the breeze from the ocean should be enough.

Yes.. it's the same location.. I just like the set up.. very casual.. Give me your e- mail address and I can send you the e- mail from my travel agent who went out there..I shoud be getting pictures soon. I wanted the tropical resturaunt because of the location also but didn't like the menu choices for the reception. i don't like the disco idea so I'm doing a set up on the beach by the beach bar for the reception with some x mas lights, tables- casual- we will do the cake cutting out there and then play music. I have some of the 36 inch wedding sparklers for guests. Not sure what else. we have been married before and both did the traditional reception thing and don't like to dance.

We are staying there (and so are our 50 or so guests) because it is one of our favorite hotels in the area. Beautiful, natural grounds, awesome pool and the best beach around. We opted for an off resort wedding reception, but will do everything else at the Iberostar for the wedding week. Good luck!

Where are you doing your reception.. I thought of that too... What resturaunt do you recommend for the dinner at the hotel.. I picked the steakhouse but it's open air and not really fancy, not that I want fancy, but maybe a little nicer.

An off site reception might be nice related to only having 1.5 hrs to do it at the resturaunt.

Thanks

Andrea

We're having the ceremony and reception at the omni in puerto aventuras, which is a small hotel, not all inclusive and more private and intimate than the iberostar. They are giving us a large private area for the whole night,

which is what we really wanted.

As far as the resaurants go, we like the mexican best, but it is rather small. I also like the steak house and you are right it is casual but has good atmosphere for a party in my opinion. I don't care for the japanese habachi place, we've tried it twice and didn't like the food either time and it was really really slow.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
