So I made an appointment to go dress shopping with both my mom and my FMIL (they will be meeting for the first time) at a place a few of my friends went to-after talking to a few other people they recommended another place-I am thinking about going tonight to the other place just to see their selection and make sure it is worth my mom driving an hour to go...I don't want my mom to be disapointed either...any thoughts? I mean-if I find a dress there tonight I will still have my mom and FMIL go and see it...

i checked out a bunch of different shops on my own before my mom and sisters arrived so i'd know which ones we should visit together, so i think its a good idea to check out the shop tonight and see if its worth a later visit with your family

That's fine. I would probably stick with the one.

If it is your first shopping outing, I don't recommend buying your dress. You won't need to order until December/January so you have time to look around, compare prices, etc.

I'd make the day more about having fun especially since it is their first meeting. Have a nice lunch and maybe go for pedis afterwards.

It doesn't hurt to check. My friend found an ad for a huge bridal sale and we decided to check it out. I got my mom, aunt and friend together after work one night. We all drove way out of our way to go to this place. We get there and see probably 5 dresses on sale and the rest were thousands of dollars!

I went to 3 bridal shops and took my Aunt and FMIL with me 2 of the three times. We made an afternoon out of each outing and went to lunch for a girls day out. It was super fun.

I only went to salons that had websites so I could get an idea about what the salon was like before booking my appointment. I also sent each place a list of dresses that I wanted to try on so they could be pulled out for me beforehand.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
