Samantha,

Yes, lets keep in touch. Are you going to send Vanessa pictures of what you want the flowers and cake to look like? She told me that they can try and match it as close to the pictures as possible but I think I want to get their flower catalog first to see what they get to work with.

Thank you for the info.  I am working with Grabriela and I absolutely love her.  She responds very quickly.  We are getting married on October 3, 2012 at 4pm and will be there from Sept 29-Oct 6.  We will have close to 100 people coming.  So that can get pretty pricey to pay $20/chair.  We are having a cocktail reception at La Laguna.  I am currently researching the photographers and dj's.  Who are you using?  Some of the photographers I have looked into are close to $4,000.  I am trying to spend a little less on this.  I really appreciate this forum.  All of you ladies have helped me so much!

Darya,

Yeah I've been paying close attention to the flowers that I see of other bride's weddings at GP so I know what they are capable of doing. I'm not really diggin any of the arrangements that they have for the "judges table/sweet heart table" I mean the flowers are pretty, but I'm not pumped on the way they are arranged, so I hope they are willing to step out of the box on that one.

I think I will end up sending pictures to them ahead of time but taking a look at their flower catalog before sending them is probably a good idea. Have you asked for the catalog yet?

As for the cake, I wonder if they include flowers to decorate that with too or if that will also be another extra cost. All of the cakes I've seen there look pretty basic, white frosting, not much to them so that makes me feel like they wouldn't be willing to try to match a picture of a cake, but I'm not sure.

Shannon,

I feel ya on the pretty pricey comment. I'm feeling that way too.  if you go with the $20 a person for the ceremony and you have a guest count larger than 40 and you want to have dinner than you have to have a private dinner which is going to run anywhere from $50-$65 a person (by the way I hope this expensive meal is epic, especially seeing as how on any other night my guests can eat for free cause it's an all inclusive resort). So You're looking at up to $85 a person plus the package price!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAHHHHH Makes me want to not invite everyone cause they actually might come! LOL ;)

Also has anyone looked into live entertainment? I was thinking a salsa type group would be awesome and very fitting for a dance party in mexico, probably way expensive though. And what about a mariachi group, has anyone looked into that?

Shannon,

Wow, 100 guests! That's a great turnout for a destination wedding. Based on the photographer reviews on this forum I booked Sascha Gluck. He is very reasonable, I'm paying $2,600 for 8 hours for Sascha and his assistant. Our ceremony is at 4 and the sit down reception is at La Laguna from 7 til 11pm so we wanted to do a cocktail party for 2 hours to keep our group together and entertained. For the reception we booked DJ Doremixx (they had great reviews too). I thought it was a good deal: $800 for 5 hours. Music is important to us and my friends love dancing so we thought we'd get a professional for that. They have been great so far, sent me all kinds of song suggestions and they are open for suggestions.

Samantha,

I'm still debating about live music during the ceremony but that's a little pricey. Here's the price list for music I got from Vanessa:

Mariachi Band (8 men) $775 for 45 minutes

Trio Band (3 men) $350 for 45 minutes

Live Band - 3 musicians $625 for 1 hour

Live Band - 5 musicians $975 for 1 hour

As for the cake Vanessa said they can try and do anything you ask for but they do not work with fondant. I was thinking about getting white frosting and decorate it with fresh flowers to match my bouquet but I haven't picked the bouquet yet.

I got the pricing for the bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc. if any of you need it.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post on this forum.  It's been a great resource so far.  I am hoping someone can help me with a contact email address.  My fiancee and I are trying to get in touch with the Grand Palladium Resort complex to inquire about availability in early 2013.  I have sent two emails to the following email addresses but have yet to hear back from them.  These are the emails I used; '[email protected]' and '[email protected]'.

Would anyone have a specific email address to a person who looks after wedding reservations so I could try that email address?  Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

JG+CT

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
