Hi soonergirl - I'm with Kathy on this as we are using DD also :).

 

I'm so happy we made the decision - and I agree - the price is about 3K more - we are having our reception at Dreams but I know it will look great and won't have to worry about anything which is a huge plus and worth the extra cost for us. Also,I'm kind of a stress case if I have to handle everything myself so this has helped me a lot - I don't do anything besides answer emails fromDD really which I love.

 

I don't know much about the other hotels - but I do know Dreams PV just hired a new coordinator named Rebeca who is supposed to be great - I personally have not dealt with her at all though.

Hi ladies! I'm using DD as well and am SO excited! I fell in love with their website immediately and was thrilled that their proposal fit in my budget! I have heard nothing but great things about Kristin and Michelle. I have just received our first "planning e-mail" and have to decide on our ceremony songs asap. Any advice?

 

How far along are you guys in the planning stage? I'm excited to learn what's next to come!

 

Also, where are you all getting married? I'm at Dreams on November 10, 2009!

Welcome Jennifer! I'm November 28th at Dreams so we will have to compare notes! :) I haven't really done much to be honest. I've only booked my photog, ceremony site (Catholic Church in town), and reserved the beach at Dreams for my reception.

 

Are all your guests staying at Dreams?

Hey Jess! Yes, I think (slash hope) that most of our guests will stay at Dreams. They're welcome to stay elsewhere but I'm not giving any other options on our website or anything - what about you guys? Are you paying the extra fee for your off-site guests to come to the reception at the resort?

 

We're doing the ceremony and reception on the beach at Dreams. Who are you using as your photog?? We just booked Paulina Ulloa...we're just on planning e-mail #1 and trying to decide ceremony songs - it's tough!!

 

Are you taking advantage of the free wedding package at Dreams at all (ie the prep of dresses, honeymoon package, etc)?

Yeah same - we aren't giving them options either...hoping they will stay at Dreams and then paying a bit extra for them to come 30 minutes before the ceremony - not a whole day pass though.

 

Our photog is Stephanie Williams (Stephanie Williams - Photographer - Weddings, Portraits, Destination - Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Worldwide). I'm excited! -we are bringing her down with us. I looked at all the photogs Kristin and Michelle sent me, but I ended up going with my own. Paulina looks great!

 

I'm planning on only using the steam services for my dress...I'm not sure I'll use anything else. We are planning on moving to another hotel for our honeymoon, so we wouldn't use that...what about you?

Ooo she looks great!! There were some great photogs from the US but it just wasn't in our budget to bring one over sad.gif I hope Paulina will be okay!!

 

I'd like to take advantage of the honeymoon package even though it won't really be our honeymoon. I was just thinking of the champagne and fruit/breakfast in bed, etc. FH will be finishing up law school so we're doing the honeymoon in Greece later on (in April!) What resort are you guys doing your honeymoon at?

 

Have you been in touch with the WC at Dreams at all? DD will organize all that right?

Paulina looks great - I'm sure she will be fabulous!

 

Greece will be incredible! That sounds like a blast

 

I have only contacted the WC about a welcome dinner but we are not going to end up doing it at Dreams. Other than that, DD handles everything directly with Dreams - so don't worry about that!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
