  1. Girls, I am so sorry I should have posted earlier but I've been travelling in Asia for the past few months with limited internet access! We did finally receive our photos from Paulina near the end of January/beginning of February. They are amazing. She is soo talented and takes great photos. She even included some extra photos for us, presumably because of how long she took. Although the process was frustrating, post-wedding, it was definitely worth the wait!
  2. Kristin and Michelle planned our November wedding at Dreams resort and I cannot speak highly enough of them. They were an absolute joy to work with - so quick in response, answering any and all questions we had. I can't even begin to describe how amazing our wedding was - every bit of it a total surprise and every part of it completely perfect. Looking back on the pictures I sent Kristin for inspiration, I realize that the centrepieces, ceremony set-up, dance floor, bouquet - everything that they put together was even more beautiful than what I had sent them! Their coordination fee is completely reasonable and after that the prices they get from other vendors is significantly cheaper than if you had gone through the resort directly (at least with Dreams). If you're looking for a unique, gorgeous and totally YOU wedding, I would, without any hesitation, recommend them. They allowed me to have a completely stress free and wonderful wedding day. That night, my hubby and I were saying how we wished we could relive the entire thing!!
  3. Weddinggirl - I haven't heard anything from Paulina. This is after sending 3 e-mails in the past four weeks including one that was translated into Spanish. Understanding that her father passing away in November is a very tragic loss for her, it is very unprofessional to completely ignore clients. It has been over 2 months since our wedding after she promised the photos in 15 days. After promising them, on Dec. 2, in 2 weeks (which we were completely fine with), we still haven't seen anything. Thankfully we have fabulous wedding coordinators in PV who are trying everything in their power to procure the photos, but Paulina is not responding to their calls or messages either. Last I heard on Friday was that she had the photos ready to go via DHL for Monday (yesterday). I have yet to receive a tracking number (or the photos) and again, our wedding coordinator cannot track Paulina down. I am totally wowed by and impressed with the photos Paulina has on our website - I think she is a very talented photographer and I very much liked working with her on our wedding day. However, after paying for her services several months ago and then being completely ignored, I would hesitate to hire her again. I will keep you all updated on when we recieve our photos. We are moving out of the country (and travelling for a month first) on Friday, so as you can imagine, I'm getting very anxious to receive the CD!
  4. Hey Nikki - do you have your photos back already? Our wedding was Nov. 10 and I haven't heard anything from Paulina since - we were so excited when she had told us she would have them back to us in 15 days!!! Totally understand that she had serious family issues, but she had told our wedding planners that she'd have them to us "within a couple of weeks" at the beginning of December. Do you know if you're able to access the photos on her website too? Does she e-mail you with this info? I noticed a "wedding guest log in" on her site. Thanks!!!
  5. Can anyone tell me what Paulina's price is for the 3 hour package?? Thanks girlies!!
  6. Are most people doing land-only or package deals?? We're running into problems as it's hard to use the same tour operator for both our American and Canadian guests. Does anyone have an idea of what a "good" land-only price would be for November??

  8. Oh and I totally agree with you girls...I'd rather have 50 or 100 really sweet, artsy, creative pictures than have 1000 mediocre ones!
  9. J&M, do you mind sending me the pricing sheet you received from Paula? [email protected] I've hired her through our WC and am just curious to see if the price varies at all! Thanks so much!!
  10. Oh, so there are deluxe rooms in the new tower too? I thought it was just Jr. Suites in the new tower?

  13. Ooo she looks great!! There were some great photogs from the US but it just wasn't in our budget to bring one over I hope Paulina will be okay!! I'd like to take advantage of the honeymoon package even though it won't really be our honeymoon. I was just thinking of the champagne and fruit/breakfast in bed, etc. FH will be finishing up law school so we're doing the honeymoon in Greece later on (in April!) What resort are you guys doing your honeymoon at? Have you been in touch with the WC at Dreams at all? DD will organize all that right?
  14. Hey Jess! Yes, I think (slash hope) that most of our guests will stay at Dreams. They're welcome to stay elsewhere but I'm not giving any other options on our website or anything - what about you guys? Are you paying the extra fee for your off-site guests to come to the reception at the resort? We're doing the ceremony and reception on the beach at Dreams. Who are you using as your photog?? We just booked Paulina Ulloa...we're just on planning e-mail #1 and trying to decide ceremony songs - it's tough!! Are you taking advantage of the free wedding package at Dreams at all (ie the prep of dresses, honeymoon package, etc)?
  15. Our tour provider is giving us $1500 for every 25 people we book, so we're hoping to use that to upgrade. I'm (STILL) waiting to hear back from our TA about the prices for the suites with jacuzzis vs. no jacuzzi and also on the Dreams Suite and Presidential Suite...but I'm also hoping we might be able to upgrade when we get to the resort for a better price if there are rooms available...
  16. That sounds sooo nice!!! Just listened to the guitar version of Air on a G String and I am in love with it. All of those songs sound so great together and I think you're right - doing the guitar/banjo theme works well regardless of whether the songs are classical or modern. Thanks sooo much!! The snow didn't stick (thank goodness) but it was CHILLY today!!
  17. Thanks binzer! I see you're from Victoria too - small world Hopefully you're in AZ right now as it is SNOWING today. Ughh. As far as classical goes, I really like Paaschendale's Canon in D. I also would really like to incorporate Somewhere over the Rainbow - the version from 50 First Dates. But even with those 2 I feel like there might be a clash...what do you think?
  18. Hi bridies! So, I need to get my ceremony songs over to my wedding planner by Friday! I have NO idea what to do!! Is it weird to have classical songs for the processionals and then more fun/modern ones for the recessional? I would adore any advice anyone might have!!!
  19. OMG those are sooo cute!! I thought I was going to go barefoot but I love these! Thanks ladies!
  20. I LOVE the idea of a cupcake wedding cake. It's what my fiance and I have decided on. Traditional wedding cake rarely tastes good because of all the fondant that caked on. I think the cupcakes look cute and are much tastier! We're also doing a candy buffet. My wedding coordinator has quoted me $150 for cupcakes to feed up to 50 guests, and that includes a cake on the top layer to do the traditional cutting.
  21. I am very curious too! Also, what are prices like? Should I be paying for my BMs to get their hair/makeup done too? I was worried about the spa at the resort so am considering getting a makeover done at Sephora or MAC or something...and then buying all of their products that I liked. My best friend is going to come and videotape the makeover (literally..haha) so that she can re-do it for me in Mexico. She's going to do my hair too. She is not a professional but has been doing my hair and makeup since we were 13...and I've always loved it. I trust her completely! BUT it might take some stress off of her if the spa at Dreams PV is really good...
  22. I'm using Paulina for my wedding at Dreams in November (also working with DD) and thought that her gallery online looked fab!! Does anyone have recent photos?
  23. Awesome! Excited to see the PV version as well - thanks in advance, Mel!!
  24. Hi ladies! We were thinking of doing a welcome "party" our first night there and are thinking of just having everyone meet at one of the bars. Any suggestions on what would best? What type of room is everyone staying in? I've heard that it's worth the extra $$ to upgrade to the Jr. Suite. Has anyone seen the Jr. Suite - is the jacuzzi nice? Also interested in the Dreams Suite, but I saw a picture of the "private pool" and it looked like the size of a hut tub...any advice? Has anyone seen the presidential suite?? Looks AMAZING!!
