Shoes are from zappos.  Some one posted them in hot pink on the "show off your shoes thread" and I went on a hunt.  I was so excited to find them in my color.  They have really nice white ones too.  There are so many great sites for cheap sashes but I am looking at efavormart.com and cvlinens.com.  They both have lots of other things.  There is also a sash sharing thread on here where girls are sharing sashes...brilliant idea.  Who needs that many sashes after the wedding lol!!  I plan on making my own centerpieces.  I like the flowers in water look.  Saw someone with white flowers in turquoise water (another Del Sol slideshow) and fell in looooooove with the idea.  Thankfully I have a very crafty mother that can help me out.

Now getting everything down there in one piece is a whole different story.  =)

So my mom ordered some sample real touch flowers and they just got shipped today.  I am excited to get them in person and see them first hand instead of just seeing pictures of them.

I am also debating buying our sashes and runners instead of having them do the table set up there.  They want to charge over $200 for every two tables.

We are going to pay the money and have a DJ there though, that is important to us.  Plus I want someone there to announce everything for us.

I am also leaning towards that harpist for the ceremony.

What is everyone doing for their centerpieces?

Paper lanterns?  I love the idea but I am so unsure about whether or not their will be somewhere to hang them.

Does anyone know if the WC sets everything up for us?  Even if it is stuff that we bring ourselves?

That is the website for that particular arrangement.  Her stuff looks really nice.  I just hope that it is that impressive in person too.

I think i'd just feel a lot more secure knowing exactly what I'm going to be carrying in vs. picking a few days before!! I'm really picky about stuff like that and am nervous that I won't like what the resort offers or something (although I have seen PDFs) but still! :)

That arrangement is beautiful!  What website is that from?

Honestly, you can find sashes for less than $1 a piece, and I don't think they'd weigh down your suitcase that much!?  I'd say its worth it to save that much money!!

We are getting harpist!! I heard it's perfect!! :o) and my FI actually suggested that because it would be more romantic than having the trio or mariachi...and if you knew my FI at all, you'd know that's rare!!!! haha

I'm not really sure about centerpieces!?!  I would love any easy ideas any of you may have too!

For the paper lanterns, I'm thinking about getting them for the Pandero terrace to hang from the top for my cocktail party, I've seen pictures of that that look really good. I'm just not sure whether to go with white or one of my other colors, or a combo?

I do believe I heard someone say that if you bring your own decorations that they will still set them up??

Lately, I have been feeling like a bad bride.  In the last 2 months+ I really haven't done anything for the wedding.  Sadly, Jess, I probably need to come to your class and repeat elementary math since up until Natalie' s post I thought I had 8 months til my wedding.  I am getting married on May5th, 2011. Now I realize I have just over 6 months!!

I guess I have just been working so much that I missed some months??!!  How did this happen?!

My guests are there for 5 nights and 6 days and now I am feeling a little overwhelmed by all that needs to be done for all the events.  My TA came to my house Monday to lay the smackdown on the bad bride.  Guest list is at 70 now....welcome bags totally not done.  Nor is any real planning for the other events.

I booked the Amythest Package, we are having our welcome dinner on Maramcas Terrace and wedding reception on Solarium Mundaca.

Can I ask about how much the welcome bags are costing everyone? I am trying to come up with a reasonable budget.

I wish I could lose track of time for a few months!! I feel like my wedding is so far away!!  You have plenty of time to get things done!  I would definitely make a list of everything you need in general, check off everything that you've done so far, and just start working through it!

As far as the welcome bags are concerned, I am only going to end up spending around $15-20 per bag.  I was very thrifty about the things I bought, and already have most of the things for them already.  I got bags, t-shirts, pens and notepads all from VistaPrint for free (just paid shipping) to start out.  If you need help coming up with some things, let me know!!

I plan on getting the OOT bags for about $.99 each and filling them with lots of stuff from the $.99 store.  Chapstick, sunscreen, aleve, pepto, tissues, wet wipes, safety pins, floss and anything else that I can find.  I am trying to stay around $10-$15 a bag but I'll have to wait to see how many ppl I have coming.  Fewer ppl = more goodies in the bags.  =)

Back to the flowers....

Do you think it would look weird if my bouquet is bright tropical flowers and then the BM bouquets are just plain white roses/lillies (free bouquet)?  After seeing Alisa's flowers I think it would look nice to have them all the same and they can all take them home but that means more mullah.  But I guess it would also be a gift for them to take home if they were real touch.  Hmmm.....

Jessica I like ur idea of using the BM bouquets as centerpieces/decorations.  (posted in another thread)

Sxct - I don't think that would look odd at all. I have actually seen several wedding photos were the brides flowers are very different from everyone else's. Your the princess that day! Your suppose to stand out =)

My flowers are going to be purple orchards and all the other flowers will be white Callalillys.

Thank you!!! :)  We have picked out the reception and cocktail area!!!  I have reached out to a TA and Save the Dates (yes a little late) will be going out this week if not next!  We got engaged not too long ago but we are mostly inviting family and friends so they're super excited and expecting our upcoming nuptials!! :) Diamond Wedding Package and we are still debating between dark teal, ivory and oranges or dark teal, ivory and raspberry.. leaning more towards the combination with raspberry..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
