When you contact him, let him know that Amy Fitch sent you and you are my BDW friend, he knows me, I bug him all the time :) He ended up doing this shoot for me for free, I'm just paying for the book.

He did our engagement photos as well and is traveling to Mexico for no charge, he's great to work with and I highly recommend him. Here are some of our engagement photos: Union Station Engagement Pictures | Chris Schmitt Photography Blog

Alright ladies... Groomzilla struck again!! This time it's on the timing of the invitations...

We are 8 months out, I was hoping to have them in the mail by end of March, early April. FI thinks I am way behind on this... But is 6 months out not the norm? Even then, I'm a month ahead.... He doesn't see it this way. I'm trying to calm the Virgo Groomzilla... How far out did everyone else do them?

6 months out for invitations? That seems really early to me! We sent our STDs 6 months out and our invitations 10 weeks out. But for us, all of this was a formality. We mostly stuck to family only for our guests so they knew even before the STDs went out.

I think it is whatever you feel comfortable with your situation since all of our wedding details are different. We got engaged in the later part of Nov and decided on AS by the middle of December. We emailed and contacted as many people as possible. This was our STD. By the time the invites were done and sent out it was the middle of Feb. I wish I could of given my guests more time but the way it worked out was fine. Hope this helps.

Thank you girls! What a RELIEF!!! OH I already had a celebratory glass LOL before my workout too wink.gif

Wendy - My photog gave us a free engagement session too as well as a free TTD. He is super awesome to work with!

Christa - HAHA! That's so the opposite of my FI it's funny! Man I sent out my STD's one year in advance and did a lot of nudging and personal emails etc. to get everyone RSVP'd by the end of last year. For local weddings, 2 months in advance is normal. For me, I wanted to send mine out January 8th, 4 months out but I got them out beginning of February and that was pretty much just a formality since most had booked and everyone had RSVP'd.

We did our STD's 11 months out. We had a few people contact us to say congrats, only two definite no's and a lot of people assume we know they are coming. If I can get the invites out by April 5th... that's exactly 7 months. Which also gives me a few weekends in there to work on them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
