I am talking to the people at Hacienda Tres Rios. The TA ratings have been awesome the last few weeks, like all 4s and 5s. Food seems great, rooms are nicer and room rates are the same. If I can work out the reception details I am moving it. Nothing like the last minute, but I just don't feel like Sensatori wants the $10k for the reception and the $20k in rooms we are spending. Maybe I will wake up and feel differently tomorrow but unless they really want to step up the service and flexibility I just can't take it anymore.
Hey Ash, how did this go? Have you changed?

I know what you mean, that was exactly what ours was getting like and we weren't even having many of what I would call 'extras'. We ended up feeling like our money didn't really mean anything to them so we took it elsewhere...it may not be any different but at least they can be as laid back about it all but for significantly less!!

I got really freaked out today for the first time in awhile, my WC sent me my menu options for our honeymoon dinner on the beach and our breakfast in bed options and I think it really hit me for the first time that I'm really getting married.

My Lingerie Bridal Shower is on Saturday as well and people keep asking me if I'm excited and I just don't even feel like any of this is real, it kinda sunk in today and I'm short of breathe...

I hope this is semi-normal :)

Amy your posts always make me giggle! You always manage to say just what everyone is thinking, without even knowing it!

Mine hasn't really sunk in yet (though we don't have all these 'showers' and things!!)...the one thing that did give me a glimpse of what I'll feel like when it did was last week when me and hubby-to-be tried on a few wedding rings while we were waiting for our appt with our TA! i felt unbelievable!

That feeling's gone again now lol just done our wedding website as well and that feels great to have finished (for now!) that.

but yay to your excitment smile03.gif

I'm sad to see so many people having problems with the hotel. I'm definitely spending more than I'd hoped, but at this point, I'm trying to take care of all the other loose ends and still like the look of the hotel and what I hope my guests will get in service.

I'm with you though, I had my first shower last month and I have a local one next weekend. People keep asking me if I'm excited and "ready", and truthfully, I think I'm just waiting to start freaking out or something.
I would love to still be at the hotel, but unfortunately when the money runs out, it runs out. It left us with no choice. But hey, everything happens for a reason...that's what I'm telling myself anyway!!

I keep trying to tell myself I have two full weekends - but then I remember something else I forgot to do. But I agree at the end of the day I picked a beach destination wedding so that if everything falls apart - we will still be on the beach, in the sun, with lots of tropical frosty beverages to keep us happy. :-)

I just really don't know where the time has gone. I can't believe its already been a year. It goes by quick.
Right that list girl!! Then get all your female relatives and friends round and get them to all pick one off the list - it will be done in no time!

You'll be fine! Good luck smile03.gif

Hahaha! Thanks Katie :)

Aww that's so cute, FI and I bought our rings in May and it was fun but that didn't hit me as anything because we were still a year away! Seeing the 7 1/2 month mark is freaky.

I'm so happy your decision was for the best Katie, nothing like the relief of making the right decision that's for sure!

My Lingerie/Bridal Shower couldn't have gone better. It was Leather and Lace themed and all my girls dressed up and my MOH made sheer white and sage curtains and hand made black lace pillow cases and her husband made a table and the covered it in candles and we had this amazing lounge outside near the pool. They created a photoshoot area and had spelled out "A & D" in tealights that was like 6 feet long!

We played games and I got TONS of lingerie, too much to even wear on my honeymoon, it was such an amazing time I can't believe it. =)

We will be thrown a Doe & Stag next year closer to event time!

Everything for me just started going well, I finally got some good suggestions and cost saving ideas from my WC, I know, crazy right?!

Ahhh sorry for rambling, I just had such a great time :)

Hi Ladies,

Could any of you tell me how many guests the wedding packages cover? I have reviewed the details on the website but have not come across the number of guests per package? Also, did any of you consider Azul Beach? I havent seen a forum on here and was curious to find out if there were/are brides planning at that resort? I have selected my resort just yet...but narrowing it down. Its either Azul Sensatori, Azul Beach or Dreams...?

Thanks Ash! Wow that is VERY good value for the money. Other resorts that I have looked at seem to cover 20 people and then charge quite a bit for every additional person. Your answer might have just made my decision for me! :) Do you happen to know how much additional it is over the 40 person limit?

Thanks again!

Hi Jenna,

There is an Azul Beach thread (on page 3 at the moment of these threads).

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
