Play a little photo game?

i love black and white! its the easy way to fix an image like this and its very forgiving in this situation too i think. i also cropped it so that they are centered and so the their feet are totally gone because in the "before pic" their feet were not all the way in the pic and i typically dont like to see images with partial limbs ect. right morgan?:) oh! also, its important to crop in the correct aspect ratio too, you cant just crop anyway you want and expect the print to look nice...its technical stuff that if you dont know will cause distorted images.

you did a great job on this pic morgan!

ummm, i think his eyes are shut in this pic!

photoshop tip...if you are going to alter images, its important to by a good callibrator so that you can see what the image REALLY looks like before you alter it. also, just slapping any ol black and white on doesnt always make a pretty image, i had to adjust things so that the desity is nice and so on.

I just bought Adobe Lightroom and I think Shelley's photo may be the perfect first time project with my new software. i don't know if I can do any better than what you processed Morgan. But I'm going to give it a shot after work if that's alright. I may try taking out the bluish tone in P.P's photo too. I need all the practice I can get.

That photo of Tammy's looks tricky but soooo cute! The B&W version looks really good!

LOL. I can't wait to start playing too. My parent's friend is a photog/graphic designer. He has all kinds of programs which he said he will be bringing to my house to install on my computer. He said he will give me some mini lessons too. I cant wait to start trying it out and sharing the progression with you girls.

If you're at all worried about posting pro photos from your wedding on here, I'd also be a bit concerned about saying something like this. Microsoft and Adobe have much better Lawyers than most Photographers do. wink.gif

Regarding posting your pro photos here, if you received a CD with the digital images on it along with a release, it should be just fine. If the Photographer is willing to let you take a CD and get whatever prints you want made at Walgreens, he's not going to be upset about you posting low res photos on a forum. Or at least he/she shouldn't be. And if they gave you the rights to them, you can do whatever you want as long as you're not profiting from them.

Only spent a minute or two on each of these, but if I tried to tell you everything that I did, it would take longer than it did just to do the editing.

I will say one thing, the common thing here is that nobody is using their flash. Any time the background is brighter than the subject, you should always have your flash on. Even some of the little automatic cameras will meter the scene pretty well, expose for the background and add flash for the subject.

Photoshop tip - try using the Shadow/Highlight Tool, it helps a lot for toning down real bright areas and/or lightening dark areas.

For the blue chairs in the last photo, use the Saturation tool, select the blue channel, and turn the saturation all the way down. That will get rid of all of the blue in the photo.

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
    • So we are currently looking for an all inclusive resort for the wedding. We have 60 guests and found all the Dreams resorts as options and all of them gave us a quote and discounted price since it’s off season etc. Resorts in Punta Canta gave us a reasonable price, Dominicus gave us a really good deal then La Romana Resort and Spa gave us their regular price and so hard to negotiate. Will someone tell us how special is this resort that they won’t give us a good discount when all my guests are staying in their resort for 5-8 days. We are bringing $$$ in their resort and not give us a discount?  What is so special with this resort?  Can somebody recommend a beautiful resort?
