@@Shermul Also what is the timeline of your wedding day? Connie just wrote me back a confusing email about it and since you are doing the beach cocktail like we are interested in I figured it would be similar. Thanks!

@@jsparrow10 - Dont feel behind Hun!! I'm just over-excited to start the next phase of my life and am using the Wedding planning as my "happy thought" to get me through ;) I'm sure you just have way better stuff to be doing right now! Me, not so much! lol! (Besides working 2 jobs/14 hours everyday. Boooo! <_< ) Being a perfectionist, I just know I'm going to take months researching and changing/making everything! You have PLENTY of time!!!

My FI comes home from the Military base this weekend, so I can't wait to show him all the things, I've been up to!

We're bringing  a photographer with us. He is an amazing photojournalist and travels! He will be staying at the resort for three nights. If you are looking for a photographer, I would highly recommend him, I have been in weddings he has shot and we refer to him as "the photo ninja" because he'll all of a sudden do things like hang from rafters in order to get the perfect shot, but you never notice him.

As for flowers, I am using the resort florist. I've sent Alejandra pictures of what I'd like the flowers to look like, and she is going to let me know if soemthing similar can be done.

Our timeline is as follows:

4pm ceremony on the beach (the Rabbi said the ceremony will be 30 minutes)

4:30pm cocktail hour on the beach with Mariachi

5:30-6:30pm break

6:30pm dinner reception

Sunset is at 5:30ish so this works perfectly for us.

@@Shermul His pictures look amazing! I always disregard the thought because I thought it would be too expensive but after reading the info on DW it actually may end up being cheaper with more coverage. Are they setting up dinner on the beach? How does that work out with pricing?

@@JennyZ I hear ya with crazy hours! Wedding planning is actually my destressor (certain aspects of it lol)

Hey @@Shermul - I am so glad I found these posts!!! I am also getting married in Jan at the Iberostar!  When is your date?  We arrive the 22nd and get married on the 25th!

I haven't received anything from Connie yet and I'm starting to panic!!

Does anyone know who the onsite photographer is that we can use?

I feel like I am very far behind and I'm wondering if anyone knows what all choices we need to make prior to arriving?  Our group is small - probably 30 people max!

Are you going this January? I would defiantly try to get in touch with Connie asap if that is the case. My husband and I got married at the Iberostar Grand in Riviera Maya this past July and we had everything booked through the wedding sales department 7-9 months in advance and was in contact with our wedding planner almost daily once we hit the 3 month mark before the wedding date.

I would make sure the on site photographers are available that day for you! We used the on site photographer for our welcome dinner on the beach but went with an outside vendor for photos and video for the wedding day and we booked the company 7 months before the big day along with the DJ and all the major vendors/events etc..

I hope you hear back from her and get all of your concerns answered! No fun being stressed out just months before the big day :)

GOOD LUCK!

I may have missed it but does anyone know the current outside photographer fee? Also are the white covered chairs included in the package? How much is it per chair to use the chiavari? TIA!

I don't want to give the wrong info since we got married @ The Iberostar Grand in the Riviera Maya area, but I have to assume some of the pricing is similar if not the same. The chairs cost $6 each for us and in our case we paid $6 for the chairs for the ceremony and another $6 for the chairs at the reception because they couldn't move them into the reception/restaurant before the reception began. The covered chairs, I think were included but we didn't pay much attention to that because we knew we didn't want them so I could be mistaken.. The vendor fee for the Grand hotel was $500 and then day passes were $200 a piece which included their meals for the event. You could also look into how much it would cost for the photographer and their assistant (assuming they have one) to stay for one night and pay that. It could equal less than those fees. It may have been less for us too but we didn't realize we would be having 4 people between the photographers and videographers before it was too late to look into it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
