I hope it went well! I am a mortgage loan officer and have been for 5 years. At the time I got the job I didn't know jack about the business. I loved learning this business. I must tell you though that I work off of commission. As mentioned before there isn't a whole lot going on good in the mortgage business right now because of all of the foreclosures. When the economy is good the mortgage business is good and you can make great money. It's a feast or fathom business. There are some positions though, for instance a mortgage loan processor makes a steady salary. Anyways, I love the mortgage field and I reccomend it to anyone that likes numbers, loves to help people accomplish their dreams (own their own home) and likes to be their own boss :)

ok I'm back!

It went well!! I really hope I get the job. I was there for an hour! Met with the recruiter then he had me sit down with a loan officer to tell me about his job. They said there's two sides I can do - financial or sales. I hate selling so I might go for the banking. Unfortunately there's no base salary sad.gif but once I get started, I get commission even when training with the bankers. The loan officer told me he made $100K in his first year.. I don't see that happening for me with this economy but it's a nice goal right? They said that my fluent Portuguese & Spanish really will help me bc they don't have anyone that speaks another language there. By Monday I should know if they want me back for a second interview with the partners of the company.

And get this.. my commute.... 3 minutes!!! I make a left off my street and it's on that road hehehe It's less than a mile away from my house!

Of course! I will help you with anything you need. When I first started I had two great people that guided me and it is a lot to learn but if you are ready and anxious to make it you can. The money is good when the economy is good. Take this slow time to learn and then when it picks back up you will be rockin' and rollin'
I have my fingers crossed for you! I bet you get it :)

Thats what they told me and I don't mind that it's slow bc it does give me that time I need to learn. I'm really excited and ready for the challenge. I hope I get it sad.gif

Do you go out and sell? I just cant see myself doing that.. the Loan Officer I talked to says he's always out golfing with his clients and stuff..

It totally does.. it's what I need. A real career. Being an esthetician is something I can do part-time (as I am now) but it's not the full time job that I want. Plus, I only get paid cash which could be good but when I want to buy a new car and house, it doesnt work..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
