Destination Wedding Planners

Hi Jennifer,

I'd say hire a WC if your resort doesn't offer one. I wasn't going to, but I realized that I don't want to be stressing over every detail throughout my special day. I'd rather pay someone and lessen the burden for myself. IMO, the $$ is worth the peace of mind.

I don't think you've choosen a location yet?? Once you choose a location, you'll get lots of advice on WCs who are good in the area.

Hi Jessalyn,

Unfortunately, I still haven't narrowed down a place....there are so many good reviews of Cabo and PV and those are places that seem to offer the most, but I'm afraid that they might be too far away for us. I think a DW planner would be helpful b/c I don't want to have to plan too much, but I've heard mixed reviews about them...like Destinationweddings.com. Aaaghh! :-)

Thanks!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Tammy (host) is a travel agent who specializes in destination weddings. You should send her a private message or an email and ask her for her advice. She can help you narrow down the location and give you some great advice based on your specific needs. She's really friendly and helpful. I would certainly contact her before you try the other link you posted.

The WC I was referring to before would be based in the location that you choose to help you throughout the day.

Hi Jennifer!

As Jessalyn recommended I would contact Tammy, she'll be able to help you. I would not recommend destinationweddings.com, I don't think they're that helpful and they don't really do anything special for you, most girls here that looked into them decided against them, but there may be some people that have done well with them. Good Luck!

click "private messages" under the area that says you have unread posts and then in the to box, put host and then write her a message. The reply will come back through the same area. The same way that you PM'd me. Let me know if it doesn't work and I'll send her one and copy you, so that the two of you can get in touch.

i tried dw.com and they're NOT wedding planners - they're just travel agents, and not very good ones at that. i am still trying to get my $50 back.

it's not like i had a bad experience with them, i just think they oversell what they have to offer. i thought they'd help me pick a place based on what i wanted, but nope - they just kept sending me prices for places I had mentioned. i was hoping they'd HELP me plan, not just send me quote after quote.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
