Mommies to be check in

Hi Kelly,

You must be so relieved now that you got your results back! We've been getting calls from my docs office offering genetic counseling. My DH little brother has down syndrome and the nurses feel it would benefit us to speak to someone about the risks and possibilies of us having a child with it as well. I'm not sure how I feel about going to counseling and stress myself out before I even get tested. I just feel that I want to take it day by day. If my test comes out positive, I'll deal with it then and begin the genetic couseling. But for right now, we opted not to go to the counseling until we find out the results. I'm very nervous about taking the test! How soon did you get your results?

We just did the screening part. I said I didnt want the amino unless the test came back positive. We weren't going to do anything even if it did. I just wanted to be prepared for the worse. And thank god it's not. I had the ultrasound to measure the thickness of the neck and the blood work done on the second on Jan. I hadnt heard anything so I called to day (they told me it would be a week). I said Im assuming no news id good news and they were like "Oh yeh" it was negative. You have been cleared no need to come back. It is very stressful. I didn't think hubby was going to make it. Or I was going to kill him for making me crazy about it. But I am relieved to know all is clear. Let me know what you decide.

I'm reading your last threads and I'm so scared!
I think I'm pregnant. I'm tearing up just writing this. crybaby2.gif

I have all the symptoms (swollen and tender breats, nausea, some cramping, tired, and of course I'm a crying wreck). I've been on the pill forever though. Except I missed a pill this month and didnt take it until 2 days later to catch up. Which according to all the websites about conception, that day I missed the pill is basically during my "fertile" time. I'm just nervous about the idea. I still have 9days until my I'm suppose to get my period. I'm afraid to take an at home pregnancy test and get false results because it's too soon.

At first I really didn't think this was the right time to have baby. I wanted to wait a year and enjoy married life. Now, I secretly hope I am.

See, I told you I was a wreck! undecided.gif

Atleast, my husband is being supportive. So I guess we'll see what happens.
First of all, I want to say Congrats to all the Mommies and Mommies to be! This is a great thread for support. All you ladies are amazing!

It's been a few weeks since I posted, I wanted to share that I'm NOT pregnant. It seems I was going through a lot of stress and plain PMS.

I am sad about the situation because we became very excited. I know things happen for a reason, so when the time is right, we will be blessed with a beautiful healthy child. Who knows, maybe next year!

In the meantime, I'm pleased to report we are buying our first home. It'll be perfect to raise kids in. We are excited and maybe the year will come quicker than we know it!

Thanks again!!!! smile03.gif

Danielle, I'm sure everything is fine. I'll be thinking about you. And Mrs. Martin, just thinking about it and talking to somebody before you even know results can worry the hell out of you. So yeah, I think waiting is the best option.

Kelly, that's great news. I know your relieved.

Glad to hear everybody else is doing well.

Jessy, congrats on your home.

Just catching up. Didn't realize how long it's been since I posted.

Danielle,

No worries about the eating part. I'm sure it's fine if you're craving it! Just stay as active as you can for your own sake and for the sake of your baby! I absolutely don't recommend you take up an intense exersise routine, especially if that wasn't your lifestyle before but, walking daily will make you feel good!!! Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way!

To everyone else who wrote about the screening: congrats to those whose came back negative! Both of mine were negative which is great! It's absolutely a relief. To those who haven't had them yet, no worries!!! I hear of a lot of false positives happening out there so I'm sure everything will be fine! smile03.gif

I'm sorry but, I can't agree about the sex thing! I can't say that I turned into a nympho maniac blush2.gif LOL but I am a lot more sensitive and am really really really enjoying pregnanat sex since day 1! So is hubby! Hang in there girls, I keep hearing that it gets better for everyone in the second trimester.

So here are my updates: We found out Friday at our anatomy scan that we're having a healthy boy!!!!!! Both DH and I didn't care either way but I had a very strong feeling from the very beginning that I'm growing a hot dog in there and I guess everyone likes being told they're right :)

I'm 20 weeks and I think my stomach grew overnight tonight. All of a sudden, my sweaters are all a little too tight! I tried on like 4 different ones this morning before finding something that fits! Everyone kept telling me that will happen! :) LOL I can't say that I popped yet but it's deffinitely bigger today. Maybe I'm just bloaded!

I just read my ticker and it's just way too funny! Maybe since I didn't have any morning sickness, I will avoid the vericous veins and stretch marks too! The Palmer's cocoa butter is on my shopping list just in case though:) I'm kind'a hoping I took after my mom and grandmom, neither one of them had stretchmarks from any of their pregnancies. *keeping fingers and toes crossed* :) LOL

Congrats Bisha on your new baby boy! Any names yet? I think Im having a boy too. We will find out in 5 weeks> I cant wait. Just think your at the half way point... I tried the Coco butter with my first one and it didnt help. I have been told its genetics. And my mom looks the freddy Cruger after me and my brother. So guess what after I delivered they showed up. They were all under my belly that I couldnt see. I was like awww crap! Oh well, I just say they are angel kisses. Hopefully I wont get anymore this time. I should already be all stresses out.

Jessy I'm sorry that you werent pregnant. when the time is right it will happen. And now you'll be busy getting your new house in order. do you have buy furniture and all new stuff for it? that's so much fun. Well it is if your husband doesnt put his two cents into the whole time! lol

Kelly my doctor hasnt even brought up the tests yet. I'm still early i guess to be having that discussion. I'll let you know when it comes up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
