Thanks, Kristy! I missed your post on photographers. Did you have your parties, last fitting this last weekend? 5 days until you leave!! Woo hoo!! Do you fly through Miami or is there a direct flight from NY? I'm leaving from Dallas, fly to Miami, spend the night there so we can be on the morning flight to St. Lucia! We'll probably miss each other by 3 weeks!

Hello ladies, I am a newbie to this forum so please forgive my errors as I learn to navigate my way around this forum.

I want to shout out all past, present, and future St. Lucian brides. My wedding is scheduled for 07*08*09(groom picked the date because he felt he would always remember this date). It will be taking place at the Sea View Garden with the reception being held at the Piano Piano restaurant. The wedding is being coordinated by Kayt and her team at Awesome Caribbean Weddings.

I am using a videographer(don't know his name) and the photographer who came highly recommended by ACW name is Mickael.

I decided I would have a welcome bag for my guests. This welcome bag consist of snacks(pretzels and cookies), candy and an animal beach ball for the children, towels(purple and yellow) and glasses(martini, champagne, and shot-for the men only). The towels and glasses have a beach design on it, our names and wedding date. Also included in the bag is a passport book. This book contains of a welcome note (got from this forum),a map of the island, tours, night life in St. Lucia, history about the island, key people contact information, popular restaurants, and a caricature of myself and the groom.

The favor bag has a cd(R&B and reaggae love songs), a bottle stopper(our invitations were message in a bottle), luggage tags, candles, and XO soap.

The night before the wedding I will be having a rehearsal/welcome BBQ at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort.

For the ceremony we are doing the sand ceremony. I also hired a steel pan band prior to the ceremony and for after while the wedding party is taking pictures. I am also using fans as programs. When the guest arrive to the restaurant there will be fire eaters and limbo dancers for entertainment during the cocktail hour. During the entertainment the guest will be eatting the canapes and sipping their signature drink(rum punch) which will be yellow(one of the wedding parties colors).

While the guest are at the wedding, I requested that rose petals in the shape of a heart be placed on their bed. Next to the petals will be a poem, I wrote to thank the guest for attending the wedding.

After all is said and done I will be leaving the Bay Gardens Beach Resort and spending 7 days at the Sandles Grande.

Now I have some questions. How did you ladies transport you dress or dresses? Did you send it ahead, checked it, or carried it on the plane. For those who carried it on the plane what was the procedure?

In terms of your favors, welcome bag, etc. did you guys send it ahead or carried it on with you? If you sent it ahead did you have to pay a brokers fee? I have a total of about 40 guest (this is down from 67 just two months ago) and have all these items for them. I really don't want to be weighed down with to much baggage.

Did any of you ladies get your nails and/or hair done on the island? If who who did you use and what did you think about the outcome?

Thanks for taking the time to read this elaborate thread. Hope to be hearing comments soon. All information is truly

appreciated.

Chelle

Hello Ctweety,

Welcome!! Your plans sounds a lot like mine. We are staying at the BayGardens Beach Resort for the wedding and also going to Sandals Grande for our Honeymoon for 7 days. My wedding was also cooridinated by ACW. I am having a beach Ceremony on the private beach and for the reception at Jacques waterfront. It's only a few weeks to go before the big day for me. I am a little nervous now.

by the way the ACW booked your rehearsal or did you book direct with BayGardens Beach Resort? I have been trying to get into with them for weeks, but there is something wrong with the internet. I will have to give them a call to finalize everything for the rehearsal.

Good luck with your planning and hope we were able to help.

    • It’s been years... and I’m now searching for the same in Montego Bay or Negril. Did anyone ever have any luck finding?
    • Hello, I'm new to this site. I got engaged already and get married by next year. I have some doubts regarding our dating destination. Hope you will help me. Thank You!
    • Hello everyone,
Well, this upcoming valentine's day is special for me because I got engaged and planning to spend the day with my fiance. I'm planning to give her an ethical jumpsuit.

Other than that I have been searching the internet for some nice discounted coupons and searched among my friends and found different sites. Now, we are looking forward to that wonderful day. We searched a lot and found out, Escape The City. Orangeville is a great place for a day trip or weekend gateway from Toronto.
Theatre Orangeville is offering a weekend package that includes 2 tickets to a Live performance at the theatre, Premium Overnight Accommodations at Best Western Plus Orangeville Inn and Suites and $75 Downtown Wine and Dine Voucher which is valid at select Downtown restaurants, and Free Entry to the scenic Trails & Bridges of Island Lake.

We are so excited and eagerly waiting for that day.
If anyone has got any other suggestions for the venue, kindly share your thoughts/ideas.
      Thank You!

    • Please tell me, the best wedding venue in Saskatoon, SK.
    • Hey everyone! Like the others here, I'm interested in wedding reception, venue and all related steps & stuff. Starting with my first and the most important note is that we're international couple and we need to think of bilingual wedding. So the first thing we need to think of is whether it will be interpretation or 2 different venue coordinators, sermons and stuff? What is your experience, what could be the best and affordable solution? From googling the issue I've found this Interactio app team ( describing possible solution here  http://blog.interactio.io/case-study-weddings )Basically they offer to hold the venue in the main language, additionally providing simultaneous interpretation online to other quest's mobile phones. Looks like really easy and creative idea. What about the others? How did you solve this kind of obstacle? Any additional advises would be very welcomed here
