No judge available for 2009????

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd share this email I received while requesting information on a "symbolic ceremony" at Grand Palladium Punta Cana (1 of 3 resorts in 1)

I can't seem to copy and paste, so here is the email word for word..."quote"

Thanks for your kind message, it is always a pleasure to know we have been selected as destination.

We inform to you that the Judge for the moment is not booking any wedding for 2009; however we have your request and we will be contacting at the Judge, as soon as we get any information we will contact you.

Please for any additional information do not hesitate to contact us again.

I know I don't need a judge for a symbolic ceremony, but wondered what this is all about...no judge being available for 2009....huh.gif??

Is this just for this resorthuh.gif?

I think they mean they don't contact them this far in advance. I was trying to schedule my june wedding in july. I was told I couldn't schedule it because the judges don't start schduleing that far out. I told her it was just symbolic so she was able to put me on the schedule.

I agree with the above posts. Currently, there is only 1 judge serving the Punta Cana area for weddings, so I am sure they don't wont to book waay to far in advance.

For just a symbolic ceremony, you just need clarify that will the coordinator. We did that and are just written in the resorts' calendar, for the time we wanted, so the judge is not involved.

If you decide to do a legal wedding there, be aware that the chances are you will not get a specific time for your ceremony until it is really close to your big day.

I had stated in the subject of my emial Symbolic ceremony and also repeated this in my email...I'm hoping she just overlooked this. I was able to tentatively book our date at Paradisus Punta Cana, but regretfully have come to the conclusion that it's out of our price range, never mind our guests. (We have 5 kids between us and would love for them to attend, but none of them are in the money so to speak. We'd have to "help" them all.) Anyway, thank you ladies for your reassurances, I'm sure all will work out in the end.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have booked at the Grand Palladium Palace for our wedding this Nov. Once we booked, I wrote the WC and told her what day we wanted the wedding and informed her that we were doing the 'vow renewal' ceremony rather than the wedding ceremony which requires the judge. She got back to us and we have our wedding date scheduled. Maybe if you contact her at the Grand Palladium again, let her know that you want the vow renewal ceremony. This resort is beautiful and I am so excited to go back there for our wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
