Any Melia Punta Cana brides?

Recommended Posts

Looking to chat with any Melia brides...I'm planning to wed there this Nov but i will not be able to visit the resort before hand. I heard the resort is beautiful including gazebo. Just nervous I guess. Ive got the menus but havent been sent a quote at all...WC made it seem like I should put my "non-refundable" deposit down first and then my own WC would be assigned to me who will iron everything else out for me....I much rather know approx. total costs before making my deposit. TIA :)

If you are on Facebook there is a group there called "Melia Caribe Tropical Brides!!!". I've looked at some of there photos and it is beautiful. There is also a Melia Tropical thread on here. Let me do a search to see if I can find it for you.

Wait no, that was another post by you. I knew I had read something about Melia Tropical last week. I do think the Facebook group may give you some further info. Good luck!

  • 3 months later...

I did think you were psychic!!! LOL!

Yes, we had originally decided on Dreams and even secured our date with them. I wasn't happy with the response time from the WC (I know it can take a bit but I wasn't willing to wait 3 weeks to a month everytime I needed a reply). Also, my friends mother returned in January from attending a wedding there and she did not have good reviews about it, there was also overbooking issues. Then my neighbours co-worker returned from Dreams and was also shipped down to some other resort 20 minutes away because they had again overbooked. I also read someone's review (I think on Debbie's forum) about an overbooking issue as well. I was not getting a good feeling with all the negative feedback I had been getting. I'm sure it is due to the name change and things with probably be ironed out by the time we go but I just wasn't feeling comfortable with them. I am very happy with our choice in the Melia..........our WC is great and I've been hearing great things from the girls who have returned on Debbie's forum.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
