Tammy. how much was the treatment?

I have really bad acne scarring too. When I got to college, I started breaking out like crazy - horribly cystic acne, the whole bit. I still don't have perfect skin and it KILLS me to see the scarring. it might be worth springing for this in general, not just for the wedding.

tasha, i had a horrible gigantic cyst the size of a golfball on my temple. i could not sleep on my side because it was too painful...i had to get a patch of my hair shaved off and the cyst surgically removed...it was no joke how bad my acne got...for about 9 months.

the combination package was about $2500 (6 IPL, 6 microderms, and obagi/retin a) but i think you can get it cheaper now. you may just want to try obagi and see if that will work for you...? obagi alone is about $250.

even though it was expensive, i kick myself about not doing it sooner...my skin looks great now and i could have saved myself a year or feeling unhappy with my skin.

So I went to the derm doc today and had my consultation. The plan for me currently is to treat my current acne issues (I swear, since we got engaged my face has gone crazy!) with Retin A, Benzaclin, and possibly oral antibiotics if needed. I am also getting Microderm Abrasion and an Acne Facial every 4 weeks. By the way- had my first microderm abrasion today- if anyone has never had that done, your skin looks and feels so nice afterwards, I thought it was definitely worth the $$.

Then, once that is under control, we're going to either do Laser, Obagi, or some combo, we'll see....Thanks for the tip!

sarah, if you can, push your DR to derm obagi, laser early january...it takes min 16 weeks for obagi to go through all the cycles AND you will need 4-6 laser treatments and those have to be spaced 3 weeks apart...

so your face is ready and recovered for your wedding...you want to get off retin a week before going to mexico

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
