late night beach party

Recommended Posts

I see you posted twice so I'll get rid of the other post so you don't have to keep up with 2 threads.  I don't know the RM at all, but I'm sure some of these girls can help!  Also, have you checked out all of the reviews on the different resorts here?  That might be a good place to start.

Hi Gilkes,

I am planning my April 2012 wedding and after MUCH looking, debating, and a site visit, I settled on Capilla de Santa María del Secreto.  It's not a resort, but a beautiful secluded venue site just outside of downtown Playa del Carmen.  Here is their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Capilla-de-Santa-Mar%C3%ADa-del-Secreto/105157861821

There is a chapel, palapa, beach area, and a palm grove.  best part is that you can party until 3 am!  Let me know if I can give you any more information!

We will stay at a nearby resort and have rehearsal dinner and other events there.

Happy Planning!

They don't really do a whole package, but have a pretty reasonable rental fee that covers the whole day/night and basics like chairs, tables, lights in the trees, dressing area, gate attendants and so on.  The wedding coordinator works with you and vendors to carry out the whole event.  It's a little different than the package pricing of resorts, but much more customizable at the same time.  I haven't found it to be drastically different price wise once you add in the small costs the resorts throw in.  Plus, you don't run into problems if your guests are not all staying at the same resort. (guest passes and all that)  I can send you the rental fee and some vendors I've talked to if you'd like!

I agree with Rsage....most of the resorts probably won't let you host the party late into the night, so choosing a rental property or other beach club is the best option for obtaining flexibility in the schedule.  With some locations that are available, you also get more privacy than you would at a resort, so that's a bonus.  The price comparison is usually about the same when you start adding in all the extras as well, and if you go over the allotted number of guests in the resort package.

Blue Venado and Amarte are two other locations worth considering.  You can rent either of these locations and provide your own catering or they can provide food and beverage services for the event.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
