  1. Sorry, It was a typo...it is $160/30 sparklers. Ridiculous. @mexiwedding: Thanks for that information about the gazebo. I am glad to know they are giving us something at least. I didn't plan on adding any additional floral décor or anything to the stone gazebo b/c from pictures it looks like the tropical background was nice. I did upgrade my chairs to gold tiffani chivari chairs. Trying to get info on the kids menu. Anyone doing that or know any information??
  2. hi Jordan, We are expecting about 50-60 ppl, and I opted to do rectangular tables (seats 16 ppl) and having garland of flowers and greenery on each table w/ votives ($568 each). I figured it looked better than getting a bunch of smaller centerpeices, and I would need more tables and centerpieces, thus would cost less as a whole. Hope that helps. I was not too impressed with their centerpieces either, and did not want to upgrade by going to then ext pricing category since we can't take them home with us or anything after the reception. Hope this helps. Any body doing their wedding ceremony at the stone gazeob? What did you do for decoration? Based on pictures posted earlier, I felt like the palm tree tropical background was nice enough, nothing much added. Did anyone pay for extra flowers there? And anyone doing a sparkler exit? I really want to do one, but they said to use their DJ Mannia to get the sparklers, charging $60 for 30 sparklers.... Just curious what everyone is doing....
  3. Thanks for the input everyone on the lighting. I really have minimal decor. Just upgraded table settings, did rectangular tables w/ garlands of flowers for the tables, and tiffany chairs. But that's about it. I am having a wedding a the stone gazebo. Does any one recommend any added decor of flowers to be added there?? I don't want it to look bare, i was hoping the view and the paradise feel would be enough? I am not sure what to do about music. They have ipod docks and speakers I was reading previously. Any song recommendations and playlists would be awesome! Anyone have a copy of what you guys wrote for the wedding program?
  4. Thank you!!! The decor vendor suggested (and added an illumination panel with lighting and roses). Will delete that item off the list. Question: For kids at the wedding, was there a separate menu for them? Or do they eat what the adults eat ( at the cost of $45/per person).
  5. I think shipping international would be 2-3x more expensive than packing a carryon bag for $50 fee. I have shipped 3 lbs boxes, and they already charge $50 for something a few states away. Question for you ladies: I got my quote from my wedding planner. Anybody have their reception on the Sky Deck? I was thinking about adding lights, but it comes out to $600 for 3 string lights. How is the lighting on the deck at about 7pm -11pm? Do you think it's necessary? I am hoping the exiting lighting that they already have is sufficient. Anyone get the 10 rose Petal panels with illumination from Alquimia?? Trying to cut down costs And did anyone do a welcome party and/or did a Mayan show or Fire show? What's the difference between the two? Sorry so many questions.... thanks for you help! What are your wedding colors ???
  6. I really like that idea of a portiable stick. My question would be, does the plug fit into the hotel outlets? Also, how are you planning to transport all this? I am debating if I should mail all my stuff before hand...but i am nervous it will not arrive, or worse, they rumage through it and take it. Curious what brides are doing about their decorations, favors, etc??? Lastly, what do you do about ceremony music? Is this only via ipod?
  7. Susan: how much was the rectangular table? I am assuming that's the price to just use a table, and additional for flowers? And how many people did it seat?
  8. @Mexiwedding: What are you doing for a rehersal dinner? are you doing something formal or planning to have everyone gather at a restaurant? I am trying to cut costs down, so I am looking to just gather somewhere. Just curious what you're doing.
  9. hi Pixistick! The booking process we very stressful for me. We did our travel and accomodations through funjet.com. I work with a coordinator in their weddings department (via emails) and they can set you up with promo codes or block rooms. I opted for a promo code for my wedding party, and all guests book on their own. There is a monetary discount depending on how much their reseravations were. I didn't want to do blocked rooms b/c I have to pay $50 per person deposit before hand, and I have no idea how many ppl would be actually going. That's an option if you want to use them.
  10. hi! I was thinking of ordering sparklers online and just brining with me on the plane, checked-in baggage. Will they allow this? Is this why you had them ordered and Mailed in Mexico instead??? thank you
  11. hi! im getting the 'GOLD' package, and included are "white avant garde chairs and high table with fabric" The picture of your table had nice white chairs (chivari looking) -- was this included in that GOLD package, or was this an extra added cost? I have been seeing these huge big chairs with white covering. I really don't want those. Just want to make sure what to expect and what i'm really getting. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!
  12. hi ladies! Getting married June 2016! I greatly appreciate everyone's feed back, posts, reviews, and pictures! So THANK YOU! I am getting the gold package, the price for the package seemed reasonable. My question is, I was looking at the decor pricing PDF, and it seems like if we want our wedding to look nice, we pretty much have to pay for seating, drapes, lighting. The package doesn't provide any of that at all? Saw someone pictures online of these big ugly chairs covered all in white, with white table cloth. Not my style. Did anyone purchase any extras? Pictures to share?
  13. How did you like the live band? Did they play recent song on pop charts? And do they DJ?
  14. Hi ladies-- does anyone know if they charge a vendor fee for a photographer if they are your family/ guest staying at the resort???
  15. Hi everyone ! I'm new to this forum and planning to get married at this resort. This forum has been extremely helpful! I'm booking travel and hotel accommodations through Funjet. I have a date in mind and just need to book my room to confirm the date. 1. What rooms did you all stay in for your stay? How is the finest club junior suite ocean view? Is it a nice view of the resort? 2. My cousin is a guest staying at the resort and is an amateur photographer and wants to take photos for our wedding as a gift to is, would they still charge me an outside vendor fee?? 3. Do they allow sparklers to be used on the terrace or beach? Thank you in advance !!!
  16. Hi everyone! I have been reading this blog, and this has been SO helpful! I also wanted to give a special thanks to Robyn (@rtscent) for all the helpful tips. I'm planning for a 6/11/16 wedding at GRM. A few questions for you brides: I was researching for pretty places, family friend, all-inclusive, and decided on this b/c a friend who was a guest at a previous wedding, high recommended it. I also liked the Pier and sky deck for wedding/reception. However, I am disappointed by the beach (or lack there of) in all the trip advisor photos. Anyone else have a problem with this? Congrats to all you brides!!!
