  1. @@Ydolem your pictures are amazing , I booked photostudioab as well ! But I'm annoyed with karisma now! I tried to negotiate that vendor fee and they say no way is that possible . What a joke . They sure know how to squeeze you for every penny , we had the same situation with bill being in USD , very unfair if we have to pay in American why can't we get the same perks ! We leave in one week I hope our experience Is as good as yours !! Thanks for writing the review , very reassuring for me ????

  2. @@atyson03 I am headed down in 41 days! And I really really wanted peonies for a bouquet , so I booked them with my coordinator and than started thinking about how outrageous the price was for them (300 dollars !) So I canceled it and bought a silk peony bouquet off of etsy cost me 150 dollars but at least I'll have it more than ten minutes now and get to keep it as a keepsake .. anyways I'm going to wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in my carryon , I'm worried about doing that though because it has decorative pins in it. So a shoebox and bubble wrap in my checked bag may have to do.

We also went to Michaels and bought silk flowers and ribbon and made the bridesmaid bouquets , which was WAY cheaper than 80 bucks a bouquet down there. Michaels has good sales and coupons usually so it worked well.

  3. I need more wonderful advice from you ladies !! I can't figure out how to start a topic lol so my FI and I want to make the welcome gift for our guests a pair of sunglasses. I asked before how to put them in people's rooms for when they check in, But was told it was impossible. Our dilemma is we have close to 80 people attending . We have the quote done up for the custom sunglasses but don't want to commit until we have an idea of how to hand them out to our guests ! Any insight would be so helpful. Right now it's basically either we figure out to give them to our guests in a tasteful manner without us having to individually and them to each person! or not order them at all.... HELP!!! TIA

  4. Need help ! Doesn't really have to do with the resort but I am stumped on where to get an outfit for my 3 year old nephew/ringbearer . I've searched ans searched the Internet , does anyone have any ideas , I want to put him in shorts a short sleeve button up shirt, suspenders and a bow tie and a fedora. . Any suggestions would be great help ! I'm running out of time ????

  5. Just wondering if anyone is or has used a silk flower bouquet ? I know with the always and forever package your bridal bouquet is included , but I really want peonies and that bouquet is 300 dollars ! So I started looking on etsy and you can buy a peony bouquet of silk flowers for 150 dollars, than at least they'll last forever ... but is that tacky ?? Any thoughts on this ??

  6. This will be difficult to impossible!! The check in process was very weird. The resort doesn't have the guests rooms assigned until they arrive. When my guests arrived a great deal of them were upgraded to better rooms because the hotel was booked. So although most of my guests paid for standard rooms, they were moved to the premium section because that section is the last to book because it's so expensive. The pier is still inoperable. They don't allow anyone on it during hurricane season anyway. I was just there two weeks ago and it was roped off.

Thanks that's really helpful to know ! I will just bring them and distribute them on my own than!

@mrsgordoncomeondown I got the same response as kmk from them when I asked. You get all the chairs you need at the sky deck but they're the garden chairs if you don't upgrade to their memorable moments. If you do, I'm guessing they give you the decorated Chivari chairs up to 24 and then you get simple garden chairs for the rest. Even their always and forever package only comes with 24 garden chairs and you have to pay extra for the rest so I'm guessing the only way to get away with not paying for them is to rent the sky deck but it's worth double checking with your WC

Thanks for the feed back I'm definitely going to run it by my WC. I really want it on the beach so we will see what they say!!

  8. Hi all ,

Just wondering if anyone has tried to negotiate any of the prices with your wedding coordinator group ? I just purchased a memorable moments ceremony package for our wedding in may , to the tune of 2900 which is fine because it's chock full of beautiful! But there are only 24 chairs, my group contains 88 people , I was thinking of getting white garden chairs for the extras , but they're 15.00 a chair ! I just think that's crazy my best friend just got married and had the same chairs and they were 4.75 a chair. I'm definitely a bargain hunter , is there anyone else out there that feels the same and if I should even bother trying to get a better deal?

    Thanks !!!

  9. We are changing the structure of the Azul wedding department. Instead of weddings being assigned to a specific individual; we have moved to a 3 team structure.  Each team will have specific responsibilities for that wedding. The first team is sales. They are responsible for working with brides and agents right through the deposit stage. They will assist with promotion questions, locations, answering all the general questions and emails that come in prior to a bride making  a commitment to Karisma for her wedding. Then after a bride places a deposit on the ceremony they move into the second phase which is the design team. This group will help her to build her wedding; select menus, flowers, reserve event locations, etc...  After that our finishing team will be a double check process to make sure she's selected everything to make her wedding perfect, collect final payment, communicate with the hotels and prepare her for her journey to the resort.

Brides will work with everyone within each team. They can call or email and our system will allow everyone to be able to assist them. Before just one coordinator had the file and all of the brides details. Our goal is to eliminate the challenges we've had in the past that was created when a coordinator left.

The challenges created by having one person assigned to a wedding are far greater than having the support of the entire department in the new structure. This way the bride can be assisted at any point during office hours by a Signature Wedding Designer.

This is the explanation I received from the wedding coordinator which now everything makes sense ! Hopefully these kinks will get worked out soon and things will go more smoothly !
