  1. @@lauralane  I didn't do the memorable moments route because it is pretty pricey.  We are adding the chair covers and bows for the chairs ($6 a chair) and we are bringing our own centerpieces (charging $15 a table).  I decided to keep the white napkins and white table cloths.  Any flowers you use in your ceremony can also be brought over to your reception area free of charge.  However, if you do chairs with covers and bows they charge you to have at the ceremony and again for the reception.  Hope this helps

Hey ladies! I'm wondering if anyone has photos or can describe the base table set up for receptions. I'm leaning towards customizing my own package instead of going the Memorable Moments route, but it would be helpful to know what we're starting with. White table cloth, white chair covers...? Or literally nothing? Thank you! :)

  2. We are getting married in November as well.  We are doing welcome bags as favors.  So far here is what I ordered for them:

Team Bride and Team Groom Bags (1 per room) from vista print

Spanish for Dummies (1 per room) from Amazon

Coil Keychain with Room Key Holder (1 per person) from Ebay and Etsy

Hangover kits ( 1per person) Includes gum, mints, tums, gatorade packet, advil

To have and to hold and to keep your drink cold koozie (1 per person) from oriental trader

Crossword puzzle book with pen (1 per room)

I am also going to include some pamphlets when we get to the resort and a welcome letter.  I am going to mail a schedule of events to all the guests 2 weeks prior to vacation time and include another copy.

I am torn on doing water bottles for each guest.  I know a lot of people on this site raved about them.  Thoughts?

  3. Hi again ladies!!  I just spoke with my wedding coordinator and asked her about booking hair and makeup.  I have 5 bridesmaids and 4 family members plus myself to get ready (hair and makeup).  She stated that since I am on the Casitas side that I can not get ready on the Royale side and those on the Royale side can not get ready at the Casitas.  Has anyone ran into this issue?  I did not envision my wedding day getting ready alone. All of my family and friends are staying on the Royale side.   If this is the case can anyone recommend any outside salons in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area?

  4. Hello All!  I am getting married November 16, 2014.  I am having my wedding at Gazebo 55, then a cocktail hour at Gazebo 55 followed by a reception at Tucanes.  How much lighting does the Tucanes have?  Is it necessary to have lanterns?  So far I ordered floating candles for the pool and 6 poles to be wrapped in Christmas lights.  Are the Christmas lights a necessity?  My WC hasn't been much of a help in deciding on decor for my events.

  5. Hello!  I am getting married on November 16 of this year at EDR. Marisol is my wedding coordinator.  It takes her over a week to respond every time I send an email.  She also seems to be very unorganized.  Has anyone ever changed wedding coordinators?  Is there one you can suggest that is more on point?  We chose Gazebo 55 for our ceremony and Tucanes for our reception.

Also, we have 10 people that need hair and makeup done (including myself).  My wedding is at 4.  What time do you suggest we start?
