    We actually just designed and ordered our save the dates last night! We kept it to a simple message in a bottle on a beach photo (since I don't have all the colors/theme finalized yet) - it includes the date, put the name and town of the resort, our website and the wording Invitation to Follow on the bottom. We put all the information we have on our website - name and contact info of our travel agent, time of there ceremony, etc. Happy Planning!! I'm April 2015 too so we'll be on the same planning schedule

    Thanks!!!! We're really excited to have our wedding at the Royalton. Chandlyn is the Wedding Manager, but she also coordinates weddings. I believe the other wedding coordinators are Laura and Ellie, but I didn't meet them. I'll email you the pics! Happy Planning

    Thanks!! Yes, we were lucky to be able to see places in person. We stayed at the Riu Montego Bay so we were able to see a few of their weddings and drove to the Royalton for 2 hours. We stayed at Secrets Wild Orchid a year and a half ago. All amazing resorts!

    After a TON of research and a few site visits, my fiance and I have finally chosen the Royalton White Sands for our April 25, 2015 wedding!!! We're so excited to have the resort picked so we can start the planning and our guests can start figuring out their travel plans. We visited the resort on May 3rd and met with Chandlyn, who showed us every spot on the resort. She was awesome and answered every question we had. The resort is amazing!!!! It is beyond beautiful and the people who work there are great as well. I attached a few photos for the brides who wanted to see "real" pics!! Happy Planning!!

    @FutureMrsGlover We're looking at the family RIU because we will most likely have a few children attending the wedding, otherwise I would have Secrets Wild Orchid on the list! We stayed there a few years ago and loved it. I will definitely let you know how we like the Royalton, I'll take and post pics. It looks gorgeous, and the reviews on TripAdvisor have been getting better and better since they opened. Thanks!! Looking forward to finally picking a resort and getting the save the dates out. Exciting times for all of us!

    Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are going to Jamaica tomorrow to do site visits at the Riu Montego Bay and Royalton White Sands. Fingers crossed that we love them both and can finally make a decision on where to have our wedding!! Happy planning to all the Jamaica brides!

    Thanks to everyone for the well wishes!! We're going to Jamaica in a month to look at the Riu Montego Bay and the Royalton White Sands, so excited!!! So fun that we have the same wedding day Mzlisa27!!! Hopefully it'll be a beautiful day in Jamaica for both of us

    I agree! I'll post all the info and pics on here once we get back, hopefully we'll get lots of questions answered while we're there. We're going Friday, May 2nd until that Monday and there are 3 weddings taking place Saturday - lots of opportunities to check out the set up and get some ideas. Without being one of those annoying people in the background of course

    Thanks so much for all the info! Congrats on your engagement and on booking your venue! I have been working with a travel agent so I haven't had any direct contact with the wedding coordinator at the Riu yet. We'll meet with her when we're there and get some ideas. I really like the idea of doing the ceremony on the beach, then a private dinner at a restaurant and then a beach party with an open bar, I was wondering if they would do that. It's on my list of questions for them when we go. I'll take pics for you! Jayne

    Hi Everybody, We booked the Riu Montego Bay for our April 2015 wedding!! We're taking a planning visit in May to see it and make sure it's for us, but in the meantime, does anyone have any information about the extras? I've heard about a Beach BBQ instead of the restaurant that's included the package and was curious as to how much extra $$ that was. Thanks for any info! Happy planning!

    Thank you so much for the suggestions and good wishes! The Gran Bahia looks beautiful, we're definitely going to start researching that one ASAP. It's really great to know that you were married there and loved it, the recommendation from someone who had a first-hand experience is very reassuring. Wright Travel has been amazing so far, the woman I've been working with has been on top of everything and is already emailing the Gran Bahia to find out if our date is available. Hopefully we'll have a resort booked soon and I can get to the even more fun stuff, like my dress!!

    Hi Clarissa, I was wondering the same thing, my wedding will be in April of 2015 and when we started looking recently, we found that there are already a bunch of resorts that are booked for our date so I started to get worried! But some DW checklists say start 12-8 months out, so I thought I was early. Love to hear from experienced destination wedding girls to see what the plan should be!     Hi everybody!! We just got engaged in December, and since we've always wanted a DW, I found this site right away and started reading!! So much good information but it has been tricky finding the right place for our wedding - our nephew is 2 and will be attending, so we need a child-friendly resort. We have been to Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay and loved it so the Riu there is a possibility, and we're also considering Bermuda because we have family there. The child-friendly Iberostar in Rose Hall is booked for our date already. Our wedding date will be April 25, 2015. I'm working with a travel agent at Wright that has been very helpful so far, but I figured might as well post here too in case anyone had any ideas! Thanks in advance for the help, and congrats to all us engaged girls!
