  1. @@LissaSou I am right there with you! I am having trouble deciding between Azul Sensatori and Generations Riviera Maya. I have no clue which to go with. The one major reason why I didn't choose AS right off the bat was because of the beach. I want to get married right in the sand and what is the point of getting married in Mexico on the beach if it isn't beautiful. I was also worried about the color of the water at AS…I like bluer water and in the pictures I have seen it was more greenish blue. I have heard Generations Riviera Maya has a better beach and bluer water but that it is rocky. I'm really having a tough time because I am trying to stay around $1,000-$1,200 for my guests.
  2. Has anyone visited this resort on a site visit? I am currently trying to decide between Generations Riviera Maya, Azul Sensatori, and Azul Beach and I really like the fact that this resort is new! There isn't much information on it because I will be opening February 1st but I didn't know if anyone had visited it and had any insight. Thanks!!!
  3. Thanks so much!! I just e-mailed our TA to get more information on prices. She is going to kill me considering we put down a $200 deposit but I just want to make sure we are choosing the right resort!
  4. Did they inform you where they typically hold the receptions at for Generations? Do you know if they are doing the beach beds at Generations…something picky I know but my fiancé and I really enjoy those.
  5. Would you consider this resort over Azul Sensatori depending on how prices compare? I do like the fact that you can go over to El Dorado Royale.
  6. Thanks for the ideas! So if I do a regular dinner reservation do you know how are we able to do dancing? I'm confused….why would they call it a semi-private if it's just a regular dinner in the middle of the restaurant? Hopefully your wedding planner will make things work for you.
  7. Wow that sounds amazing! Were you able to view the pools even though it was still under construction? Was it a smaller resort? Did they tell you about any offers they had? For example…..the free nights for bride and groom if we book so many rooms or free wedding package if we stay for a certain amount of time? Were you able to see where they would do the weddings on the beach?
  8. @@girlinthecity97 Thanks so much!!!! I would really like to hear about the details of the resorts that would help me so much! I would love to go on a site visit but didn't have the funds as our wedding is this year. I have looked into Azul Sensatori, Azul Fives, and Generations. I like El Dorado Royale but they wouldn't let my nephew come over for the wedding ceremony because it's an all adults resort. I was originally unsure about Azul Sensatori because the reviews said the beach wasn't that nice which I need considering I would like to get married on the beach. I wasn't a fan of the condo type at Azul Fives and none of the rooms have ocean views. Generations seemed to be too expensive. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!!
  9. Yeah thats crazy! I have 22 as of right now and it could be 26-28 once I get final numbers so I am worried about being over the 25 max limit for a private reception. They said if I had over 25 then I need to do a private reception which we don't have the money to pay for on top of all the additional charges….speakers, cake, ceremony, photography vendor fee, hair, makeup, decorations, flowers ext. ahhhhh this is turning out to be more stressful than I could've imagined!
  10. @@talicea7812 Yeah that really makes me nervous! Are you paying for a private reception or just doing the semi-private reception that comes with it?
  11. I currently put down a $200 deposit for Azul Beach but am still up in the air! After looking into all the extra things they charge for it is adding up to be a ridiculous price. $800 for an outside vendor fee is really steep and the photographers they allow you to use don't have the greatest photos! If you bring any decorations then they charge a fee per person to put it up and won't allow guests to do it. Their wedding package isn't free like some resorts unless you are having your wedding in September. The wedding package doesn't even include flowers or a small cake so those are extra expenses. I am really starting to second guess my decision. I originally liked this resort because it was smaller and had a more intimate feel as well as I have seen some really good reviews about weddings (except for pricing). Is there anyone else who may have looked at Azul Beach and either went with it and has some advice or someone who decided not to go with them and went with another resort? Please help!
  12. @@talicea7812 You are getting close!!! How exciting. Yeah the charging for EVERYTHING is making a destination wedding not so cost effective like they normally are. It is making me second guess my decision. So far I have only put down a $200 deposit to reserve the wedding day so I could still change resorts and loose the $200. I just don't know where else I would want it at. All the reviews say Azul Beach has some of the best weddings and I like the idea of a smaller venue. Photography is a big issue for us. There is no way I could afford $3,000 for a photographer but I don't want awful pictures either. I didn't realize that some of them don't edit the pictures!!! Thanks for pointing that out! If they don't edit that's like having one of our guests take pictures for free and it be the same quality. I don't know what to do
  13. Thanks ng2015 Has anyone found that Azul Beach is nickel and diming you? I am a little upset that they are not offering the complimentary wedding package like a lot of other resorts do. Is anyone using one of the photographers that is allowed without the $800 vendor fee? My fiancé and I don't have the money to pay the $800 plus photography considering we already have to pay $950 for the wedding. I was just curious if anyone had any positive or negative reviews of the resort photographers?
  14. We just decided to have our wedding at Azul Beach August 13th 2014! Any one having theirs around that time?
