  1. @@Crystal17,

For reception, I only had one entree for everyone ( The salmon). I think they maybe able to offer 2 entrees but you have to let Jessica know who is eating what and seat chart 1 month in advance.

On the other hand, I let my guests to pick from 2 entrees for my welcome dinner at Agave.

Then I picked 3 different appetizers and ask them to serve in 2 sets ( we sat a long table) so everyone could try everything.

Agave even made a menu for me at welcome dinner! that was very sweet of them.

oh and I made my own menu at reception though. Overall, I think one entree at reception was acutally better for me since there are so many other things to worry about!

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Ladies,

@@JenniferH114, the guitar sounds nice! We are having a saxaphonist for the cermony. I think the live music will be a nice touch.

@@upstatekj, Our ceremony starts 5:30 and everything will wrap up around 11:00. We hired photographer Sascha Gluck for the whole time. I didn't schedule my hair/make up yet, I plan on doing that soon.

@@JessT, congrats on your wedding!!!  I'm sure it was beautiful!  I had one question or maybe someone else may know.  For the reception dinner, do guests get to pick from two entrees or do you have to pick one for everybody??

My wedding was at 5:00 PM at the Pier. I started my day with a nice breakfast, went to swim a little and took shower then went to spa for hair and makeup at 12:00 PM. Elias was my hair stylist and he did a great job! It was scheduled for 1 hour and half but he finished it in 1 hour.

Then my photographer ( Naal Photographer) showed up early too ! you can certainly make a schedule and send it to your photographer to see what's their opinion since everyone's schedule is different.

They usually leave after you guys cut the cake though.

what is everyone's wedding day timing look like? how much time for hair/makup? and when do you have the photographer showing up/leaving?

i think we'll go ahead with juan navarro but wondering how many hours i think i'll him him for. def want getting ready photos, ceremony, and some at the reception, but not sure we need him for the whole reception. so many others will be taking pictures throughout the night.

thanks again so all of you ladies who provide info - this is such a helpful forum!

Depend on your wedding package, Jessica would send you menu options ( IE. gold / silver menu 1 and 2)

You CAN mix and match from menu 1 and menu 2. And if you are gold, you can pick from silver menu at no extra charge.

@@JenniferH114 I was thinking the same thing about hopefully picking/mixing entrees. Some people don't eat seafood so I'd rather have a seafood and a chicken or steak option.
So jealous you are going in Nov, have a blast! We met Gloria when we went and she was very helpful! Your wedding is a little after ours so we'll probably miss you. We are heading home May 8th.

  2. @@HNeal. You do have to walk a little across the beach to the pier. However,I walked on a path which lead to pier has less sand. Maybe the hotel staff "shuffled" it (if that makes sense).

you can't really see it but you can feel it's much easier to walk on ! Hope this helps!

@@Sabes44 When I booked I was told the Lobster House is available on Fridays.  I am getting married on Friday and have had my hopes on Lobster House.  They require a minimum of 35 people to reserve the Lobster House.  I have 28 and Jessica is making an exception!  I still haven't been able to confirm it yet.  She tells me that she can officially confirm the Lobster House 1 month in advance.

@@hapykat From what I have seen of the pier it is so pretty.  I do believe you have to walk across the beach to get to the pier though.  I may be wrong.

@@JessT Can't wait to see pics!

  3. thanks guys!!

    In short, It was AWESOME!!

Jessica M was wonderful and she was able to provide all the things I asked for.

I was still undecided on the reception location and she showed me my options.

I orginally requested Barcelona, but according to karijean and seen it myself, it was really plain.

So we visited Foyer and Las Olas: Foyer had a great view of the ocean and there is always breeze.

Las Olas was the one we settled since Foyer wasn't available for the night.

It's acutally better than what I expected! It was windy but also hot that day so it worked out perfectly.

oh and I got married on the pier and I love it !!

More pix to come ! :)

Happy wedding day @@JessT! Can't wait to hear about it!

Yay @@JessT so exciting!  Another ERC Brides wedding day!  Congrats!  I cannot wait to hear reviews.

  4. You are right, Jessica is taking over, Gloria is now her boss.

Menu - Gold option 1, and picked out all cocktail hour appetizers as well. we just went with what sounded good to us.

Flowers - I have a bouquet picked out, I really want orchids! But they are pricey! The flower pictures they send you are not good! I think it's hard to pick.

Locations - we chose beach gazebo, X-Lounge (but I think I am going to change to Las Olas) and Barcelona for reception.

It's a shame that more girls don't check out this forum for ERC. They redid the website many months ago and it's wayyy different, hard to find certain forums I think. It used to be way more active :(

    JessT:

Are you getting legally married in Mexico?

How many people are you expecting to come?

I am bringing with me chair sashes, OOT bags for our guests, personalized koozies, maracas, starfish napkin rings I made, so far that's it. I'm using their table linens.

    Hello,

I am just doing symbolic ceremony at Mexico. I think I will have around 15-20 people. I don't know if I want to do any of those. I think the resort have provided some good option to chose from. I am not too picky about the flower or centerpieces. :)

I may do a OOT bag.

    How's your plan coming along?!

  5. Oh my gosh! I hope Gloria is still there, I haven't talked to her for a couple weeks ( I haven't had a reason to) Anyone else been switched from Gloria to Jessica?!

JessT have you chosen your flowers/menu/locations yet?

    Hello karijean,

Nothing has settled yet. For flower, I want peonies and still waiting for their reply.

Menu - They sent tme some choices.

Location - I will have ceremony at pier by the beach, cocktail at Las Olas and reception at Barcelona.

I am just afraid it may rain since my wedding is in July so I picked covered place.

What about you ?Did you pick yours?

For all brides who has done recepiton at Foyer. Even though I leaning towards Barcelona since it has A/C.  Is it really hot in Foyer?

Is it a private room or a jsut a hallway ? I can't really tell from pictures.

I am going to have one long table with aout 20 people.

Should I set up near the window so there will be breeze~ ?

    Any comments are welcome!

  6. Hi JessT! I am getting married at ERC June 12, 2014. I am going to use the in-house photographers, I've heard mixed reviews but don't want to pay all the extra money for it when it's included in the Gold Package. Wedding video is only the ceremony part. I've also heard mixed reviews on that as well. As far as I know they don't video the whole day and do a summarized wedding day video. I wish they did! You'll have to recruit someone to do that. Any date set yet? Hope that helps.

Hi IrishRose. I would assume Christmas decorations will be up all of December! If your wedding is at 4:00 there should be some time left for pictures but the sun does set there earlier in the winter. That ultimately would be a question for Gloria, also the question about the beach/pier reception dinner would probably need to be checked by her as well. Are you in contacts with her yet? Any date set?

Hi Beth! My fiance and I are getting married June 12th! Have you for sure set the date yet? We did use a travel agent but only for the 2 of us. We are staying in the two-story rooftop terrace the whole time and our travel agent gave us a price that was $1,000-1500 more expensive than we were finding online (cheapcaribbean and travelocity) They price matched but it cost $100 to do so. My Fi and I decided that we would help everyone book their own trip. So far it's been going fine. I would say to go with a travel agent for your trip at least just in case anyting goes wrong it will go back to them.

How many people do you think will come to your wedding? The Gold package is what we went with and it covers up to 20 people for a private reception. You will have to pay around $20 per person if it is over 20 though. You always have the option of doing "semi-private" and it is not a set menu and you don't have to pay extra. We are doing that for a "Meet and Greet" for all of our guests the day they get to the resort.

    Hi Karijean!

Thanks for the info! My wedding date will be on July 8, 2014! I am only doing the excellence love package so photographer wil only be there for the ceremony. So I am still keeping my options open and searching for others.  :)

    JessT.

  7. Hello!

I am also a soon-to-be bride at Excellence Riveria Cancun. I am still looking and trying to book my date for 2014.

Has anyone use the in-house photographers "Beach Wedding Studio" ? How was your experience and how did the pictures turn out ?

I would also like to do a wedding video, has anyone done this before in ERC ?

Any comments would be greatly helpful!

    Thanks!
