  1. @@KTBeach2014 Its not being a bridezilla. You are paying good money to stay and have a wedding at Azul. Its a top rated resort so you should be treated like a top rated guest throughout the planning process. The customer service out of Florida is appalling. I have worked as a waitress & in customer service my entire life. I don't know how a corporate run business allows this.
  2. @@lolita2014 I didn't know you had an online wedding summary?!?! Wow. im 12 days away from my wedding and in the year and a half that I've been dealing with karisma this is the first time im hearing about this. I am like you...I would not recommend a karisma resort bc of the planning issues & on top of that the insane fees. I check into other forums and girls are complaining about $300 vendor fees. Please give me that! The way I see it is a "Top Rated" resort should act like one through the whole process...not just that one day.
  3. @@ng2015 Isn't it about the same price if you were to do Doremixx??? I think I looked into him a while ago and the prices were similar. Book a room and put all their names on it- Photo, Video & DJ
  4. your dress was one of my top contenders! congrats on the wedding
  5. @@KaraEbeth Definitely do a planning thread. its interesting to look back and see what you've done, whats changed and how far you've come @@csho Well, I did it. Now I wait to see the results. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I, being neurotic about how I would look on camera didn't eat much then had a glass of wine before doing it. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The first few minutes were awkward but then it was fine. I'm excited and nervous for the results...but like you said the photographers know how to make anyone look good
  6. @@csho Wow! congrats on being ready to go! im jealous. I work soooo much so its hard to get anything done. This week I will have to bust my butt to get everything finished! Today is packed and I'm excited and very nervous!!! My girlfriend is coloring and highlighting my hair (she's a stylist but has never done my hair) after she's gonna blow it out, curl and I'm gonna put the headband and veil on to see it all come together. Then I have to run over to the mall...im gonna do a quick eye makeup test. The makeup trial I did the day of the bachelorette...didn't like it. too silvery. so try again. Then....... I'm going to be a little daring. I've decided to do a bridal boudoir shoot. I'm very shy about my body so I don't know how this is gonna go. But I thought, "hey, I only live once, its supposed to be an awesome experience, I've lost some weight, and it will make a nice grooms gift." I have one pic in mind that I want to print, frame, and give him with a letter before the ceremony Tuesday is my final fitting...then after we are going to pick up our rings!!! We leave Wednesday the 9th! EKKKKKKK so close!
  7. @@KaraEbeth @@ng2015 don't forget to talk to your outside vendor about discounting their prices. Don't tell them you are booking them as guests. Just discuss the $800 fee. I was able to negotiate lower prices and once contracts/plans were set I added them as guest. Double saving So glad Im able to help other brides out! The outside fees are insane! ive been on forums for other hotels and ladies are complaining about $300 for fee. hahaha...they have no idea
  8. @@csho yep...we are down to the wire! the days cant pass by fast enough. I still feel like I have a lot to do. Mainly bc I work so much so there's not a lot of time for the little things. Plus its a pain with my computer. I only have mircosoft works...so I have to go to someones house to make my printable items. For some reason my files aren't converting. (kinda frustrating but not the end of the world) May have to scratch the TTD session. the dress I ordered was too big. ordered another (same brand) just a smaller size & it was too small. Ive ordered another dress in 2 sizes. If it gets here in time we'll see what happens. While it would be nice to do the session I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. All of my decorations have arrived and are actually packed! I wanted to see if everything would fit. All the decorations plus most of the OOT bag stuff fit in one suitcase & is about 8lbs under the max weight I'm soooo excited for this weekend! I'm getting my hair and makeup done! Ive brought the veil home and have my jewel headband so I can see how everything will come together! I've even decided to do a bridal boudoir session! Not sure how that's gonna go be I definitely don't do sexy well...but should be an experience & will make for a nice grooms gift 3rd dress fitting on Tuesday! I'm falling in love with my dress all over again. I was a little nervous at the first fitting. Ive lost some weight and actually liked how the sample had fit so many months ago. when I went for the 2nd fitting the dress was starting to get its shape back and the girl really puffed out the bottom. It looked sooo much better (more like I remembered) I can't wait to see it next week. They said the fit should be perfect the bustle will be added! and I love it bustled. it takes a lot of the weight off the dress and makes it look even more poofy (lol...I always saw myself in a princess dress) So time is ticking. Theres work to be done but im not stressed. its not like im relying on anyone else to get things done. Im doing it so I know it will be fine. How's ur planning? are you finished? close to finished? or not even close? Your planning thread looks like you have a good handle on things.
  9. @@rebepax Marvin is not allowed on the resort. My FI and the groomsmen are going out to the security gate to meet him.
  10. lolita2014 [email protected] www.mayafloral.com Im getting 2 large centerpieces (blue orchids, hydrangea, and roses) then 4 small arrangements. My wedding is very small so we are doing 2 long tables & a sweetheart table. I'm just going to put my bouquet in a vase for the sweetheart table flowers.
  11. @BeachBrideToBe 18 more days to go til the wedding. Who told you about all the extra fees? Like the $600 for hanging the sheers? My FL coordinator has asked me to send her a list of what im bringing but I've decided not to. At this point I have in emails that I wont be charged more than $250. So I am going to leave it at that...so if I get down there and they try to tell me these outrageous costs I can say I was never told about them...plus I have the emails asking about the lengths for sheers...so if they try to charge me I can fight it and say I wasn't told it would be xtra & my consultant definitely had the opportunity to inform me. As for florist...I'm using Marvin with Maya Floral. He saved me a ton of money! If I remember right- Lomas Quotes My bouquet= 350 bridesmaids= 225 centerpieces= 350 Marvin Quotes= Me= $180 Bridesmaids= 65 centerpieces= 75 so yeah...he has normal prices vs. the inflated lomas costs.
  12. @tmcdonald yep...the day is fast approaching. I have everything figured out on my end...however, my coordinator is still lagging behind. At this point ive given up and I don't care. Ive even spoken to the supervisor who took 2weeks to get back to me. Anything that's not sorted out with the FLcoordinator will be hashed out with the Mexico planner. All final decisions and payments were due Feb 25th. My FLcoor just sent me an email this week & attached my wedding worksheet. Most of it was wrong. Sooo I'm done with her. I will work it out when Im onsite. I'm flying in my photographer from home. Booked an outside vendor for video (he is down as a guest at the hotel but wont actually be staying. its cheaper than the fee & it actually worked out to be cheaper than Caribe or Matias cano) Booked outside florist- FI will have to meet him at the security gate but saved tons $$$ Bringing all my own decorations- nothing crazy, table décor, sashes At this point im working on some DIY projects and trying to assemble a playlist @jd0922 Thanks for the advice but I'm so close to the wedding and im just so tired of the back and forth. Like I told tmcdonald... I will just work it out onsite. Everyone says they are amazing once you get to the resort...so im putting "all my eggs in that basket."
  13. MORE CRAFTS... I saw something like this on etsy for $30-$40. Why pay that much? the pics on etsy even showed that they were flip flops from old navy? lol. something like this will only be worn once. I don't know how well they will hold up but I plan on bringing my sewing kit and glue gun down with me. They should look cute in the getting ready pics with the girls all in their robes. Mine are blue and the bridesmaids/MOB will have the black and white
  14. @@jd0922 Everyone is going to have their own little frame. I haven't decided if I'm going to print the names on color coded paper or just print their names in a specific color. Probably today or tomorrow I will actually print them and see which way I prefer.
  15. @@KaraEbeth you have to keep on top of everything with Carol. Originally I was supposed to have the wedding at the beach palapa but within the past month or so requested just to do the regular beach location. When she sent me the list to finalize the detail it still said beach palapa. When I called her out on it she sent me a copy of my original location request...so I had to go back through all my emails and find the one asking to switch to the regular beach location. Her response to that email was she would put in the request. (obviously she hasn't followed through) Since that email I have also requested info on the size of the sheers used. Soooo basically she keeps dropping the ball. What I love is that she copied her supervisor when she emailed me my original request. Oh no honey....I was sure to copy him in my response with the updated email. Also...you mentioned you have a complimentary package. How many guest are you having?
  16. @ I'm having a very small group. Only 23...so I'm lucky and don't have to worry about the extra chairs. Even if they put out all 24 there will be open seats bc of the bridal party standing with us. I am supposed to have a rehearsal, however my coordinator says she can not guarantee availability... we have to wait until we are on the resort. Since I'm having a private reception for the wedding day...we are using our included dinner reservation at the blue restaurant (Azul beach) for the rehearsal dinner. It will cover us for up to 25 ppl so it works out that everyone can attend
  17. @@ng2015 Everytime u switch coordinators ask to see your wedding worksheet. My details never transferred over to the next person @@KaraEbeth According to my paperwork all my decisions were supposed to be finalized by Feb 25th...Its now march 18th. I still haven't heard back from her regarding the corrections on my worksheet. Also, I don't have an online profile. Everything I chose- flowers, cake, entertainment is supposed to be listed on the wedding worksheet and My understanding is that you pay everything together. I guess Karisma pays Lomas their dues? Again...at this point I should know the answer but yeah.......
  18. MORE WORK ON FAVORS... I worked hard yesterday... In addition to sending out the favors, I also finished my thank you notes from the shower. Instead of doing the plain old TY Cards, I had a picture taken with each guest, printed it out, and wrote my TY on the back. I hate cards but love pictures...so this screams my style Since it's going to cost a little extra to mail out the luggage tags, I stuck the thank you's in the envelope. I also got a little stamp happy but I'm very happy with how everything turned out. This is going to be the week of DIY. I started working on my place card holders last night. Once they are dry and put back together I will post pics. As of now they look AWESOME
  19. @@KaraEbeth I don't think u mentioned u have Carol. Hope you have better luck too. On Friday she sent me my wedding worksheet bc all final selections are due. Half the info was incorrect. As for the sheers...she wouldn't give me exact dimensions either. I ordered two 40yd organza bolts to do the gazebo. Should be enough. I did book the videographer for 3 nights...He is not actually staying at the resort. It was cheaper to add him to my mom's room than pay the outside vendor fee. @@ng2015.... good luck. after all my issues and finally hearing back from Fabio...everything went right back to the way it was before. I emailed carol questions...some of which she took 2+ weeks to respond!!!!
  20. @@ng2015.... Its a good thing u have started planning early. I am on my 3rd coordinator. Don't be surprised if you get another one before the wedding day. It seems to be a common complaint on the forums. If you are waiting for Fabio to return your call...he really isn't much better than the coordinators. I waited 2wks to get a response from him. I finally got a response when I went to social media and posted on facebook and twitter about how unhappy I was. They don't want the bad publicity.
  21. Congrats on your shower...looked beautiful. the donut rings...very creative & so nice to see a chocolate cake! haha...I feel like ppl are often against chocolate!!! however, I am all about it. glad you had an awesome day. it goes so fast!
  22. FAVORS... My brochures & luggage tags are in and ready to go out to the guests Originally I was going to print out inserts but I have computer issues that I don't want to get into. Anyway, I just bought a peacock feather stamp and stamped the back. I like how it shows through a little to the other side. I think they turned out really cute. Most need to be mailed but some will just be handed out to the guests we work with. 26 more days to go
  23. I have been on many other forums and Karisma charges the highest outside vendor fees. I was talking to a bride complaining that her outside vendor fee is $300! haha. that's nothing. BTW @@ng2015 what florist have you been talking to?
  24. @ng 2015 I'm using Marvin with Maya Floral. The guys will have to get a cab and go to the security gate to pick up the flowers. Its supposed to be about 2-3 down the road from the actual resort to the main road. Once the wedding is over and I get back I will definitely be writing reviews and let everyone know how the outside vendors worked out. @ KaraEbeth A spreadsheet sounds good. Its amazing the money you can save using the outside vendors. Even with the Azul set up charges I will still be saving hundreds. I don't know if I mentioned this to you before but if u want a videographer...look for a company that does photo & video...then you don't have to pay the outside fee twice. Or here's what I did for my video guy since my photog is flying from home. My mom is staying in a room by herself. So I added the videographer on to her room. He's not actually staying there but now he will be on the list as a guest at the resort. My mom originally paid $775 for the room but by changing it to a double occupancy it dropped her price down to $635. So I saved my mom a ton of money on the room, and instead of paying $800 to bring him in, I am paying $635. The fee coupled with his package price is still cheaper than using Caribe or Matias Cano for 3hours... plus I am getting the guy that I want. Added bonus... He can come early and have lunch and when he's done filming he can stay on the resort and have dinner
