  3. @@Jc14 1. My guests paid different amount depending on where they were flying from. The Toronto guests paid around 1500.... Originally 1800, but I price compared and talked Air Canada down. 2. I used a Travel agent...because I wanted to book as a group and I didn't want to be responsible for taking all the payments and deals with travel issues. 3. That is a question with a loaded answer.... Some of my guests paid a little more then if they had booked on their own but most of my guests paid less...plus I get the added benefit of group perks... We have so many booked that me, my FI, and my Photographer are free...we just pay taxes. Most group perks have every so many people you get one free... You can use it like I did or spread the saving across you guests and everyone gets a discount... I choose free people to free up my tight budget so I could upgrade some things like food and booze at the wedding. As for the difference between the wedding packages I'm not sure and for the flower book I have no Idea. Maybe @@rebeccalane would know...she just came back and I believe she had the ocean pearl package. When reading the other old forum topics for this resort you have to keep in mind that it maybe out of date...Before the Karen bussen packages existed. Best to ask someone who's just been there or Carolina directly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. SHOES!!!! And The Reason This Site / Fourm Is AWESOME! So the first pair of shoes I bought were these from Payless last summer, they still have them this year: I thought they were so pretty then I saw these at payless: I tried them on and really liked them but I didn't buy them because I technically already had shoes and I was trying to resist the urge to buy more wedding stuff because I felt like I was just buying too much stuff and all the money going out was over whelming...well this was a HUGE MISTAKE! My money anxiety had passed and I still wanted the shoes, so I went back to get them....SOLD OUT...I went to every store I could find in Toronto! I called all my bridesmaids and they were sold out in their cities as well! Online was sold out as well! I went online to this forum and posted a Vent / Cry for help to see if any Brides in the GTA area could keep an eye out for me or if anyone had a suggestion for a similar shoe. I got a lot of great suggestions from all the helpful ladies on here. Which lead me to these shoes at the shoe company: These are not as high as the wedges (Thank god!) they have a little bit of sparkle and they are very cute and comfortable. But I can't really dance in heals and I still couldn't stop thinking about those other shoes. I went back to my post to read the reply's for more suggestions but what I saw was even better! A reply I had missed from @@beckys98 ! How the heck did I miss that! She had saw they were in stock in my size close to her work and her FI was coming to Toronto in a few weeks and I could get them from him! I messaged her right away and she got them for me!!!! How nice is that! What an awesome thing for a person to do! For someone they don't even know!! In another Country!! I can not even express how THANKFUL I truly am!! Today I picked up said shoes from beckys98's FI and he is a super sweetheart, he is so excited for his own wedding in 40 or so days! I wish them both a wonderful wedding week with their friends and family when their time arrives and a long happy life together after that. This is why this site is so awesome! You meet people who are willing to go out of their way to help you. People who will listen to your crazy rants and give you advice to help clam you. People who understand what you are going through no matter how big or small the issue and give you words of comfort and encouragement. People to bounce idea's off of / share ideas and experience with. I am thankful for all of the lovely ladies I have had the pleasure of talking to on here! Now back to the shoes...I decided to keep the first pair to wear to my friends wedding in July and maybe my legal ceremony, the shiny heals I will wear them with my long dress for the ceremony...and for my first dance with my FI...he is so tall it'll put us on even ground sort of. As for my favorite Sparkly shoes I will wear them for the rest of the night as I dance my ass off with my friends and family! Thank you again @@beckys98 !!

  10. I guess I need to figure out where I will put them and then that will make it easier....Thanks girls @TinkerSofi @calgarybride2015
  11. @@Jc14 January to End of April is High Season - Best weather & most expensive. June to October is Low Season - Hurricane Season (although I haven't heard of any brides having too many problems) & Least expensive. May, Nov & December is Shoulder Season - Weather is still pretty decent & mid range pricing. However once you start getting close to Holiday Season in December the price starts to go up. If you are looking at December I would think about the first or second week. I'm going the last week of November this year. Also Check with the resort to to see what will be open during the time you are there...some of the restaurants / pools will have shorter hours or be closed during the off season. We went to a friends wedding in Jamaica 2 years ago in December and some of the places we wanted to go or excursions we wanted to do like the Waterpark were closed because it was off season...although most were open it helps to do your research.
  12. @@Jc14 When I was trying to decide between a symbolic and a legal ceremony I found most of the info here Dominican Republic Consulate Toronto...I think I calculated the total cost of Documents to be around 600-700 USD...but I may be wrong considering all I did was research I didn't actually go through with it.
  13. @@TinkerSofi Thanks I think the bakers twine should be pretty...I have blue and green. I guess I will try a few testers this weekend...Another question...would you give them to every person...or just to each couple...I have enough for each couple but I just wondering if it's a waste?
  14. @@Kerrierf Well that's easy! I feel dumb for not figuring that out! @@Jc14 I'm having a Symbolic Ceremony but I have this Document: LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MARRIAGE IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 2015.pdf
  15. @@calgarybride2015 Yeah I guess you are right...I think I'm going to use a bakers twine instead of the raffia because I'm going to be using bakers twine for other things....I guess I just like the look of the other ones...I guess I will have to seal the bottle...what would you use? Hot glue? crazy glue? Something else? I was also thinking of not putting our names, Just "Thank you" and "Punta Cana 2015"...I don't have our names or date on anything...is that weird? Do you think people would like our names and date on some things?
  16. @@TinkerSofi Thanks! Maybe I will have to think about actually doing it! Favours: So I wanted to do a message in a bottle kinda thing so bought Some mini bottle from the Dollaramma. Now I'm torn between which version of the message in the bottle to do. The bottles on top are the ones I bought...and the images below are what I was thinking of doing. I had a friend who was in Punta Cana Last week bring me back some Sand from Punta Cana so if I decide to go with the first option it will actually be Punta Cana sand in the bottle. With the other two options people have the choice to fill with sand to bring home or leave as it as is. Everytime I go somewhere I bring home a little sand and a few seashells. what do you think...I kinda like the middle one with the heart.. or the hanging note...but I think the one with the sand in the bottle maybe more practical...I'm stuck...help?!

  21. @@ashhtayy Thanks Glad you like my thread! I was actually thinking starting an Etsy Store just for fun after the wedding so I could still do wedding stuff...but I didn't really thing anyone would buy it...lol! Sorry I'm not from Isle-aux-Morts....I'm from Straitsview (Marked Spillars Cove on google maps for some reason)....which is here...pretty close to as far north on the island as you can go...lol! I'm so glad you had a great time...Come Home Year is definitely the best time to visit a small community because there are a ton of things / parties / people on the go...especially when you are 25 and single...lol...I can't wait it's going to be so fun! Don't get me wrong I love going home any time but most of the time its a small place with not a lot of activity...which I kinda like too...kinda the complete opposite of Toronto. Newfoundland is such a great place...in my heart it is home always no matter where I go...I am fortunate to have grown up there...I spent my childhood climbing cliffs and having adventures.
  22. Wow!! Your pictures are beautiful! Sounds like you and guests had an awesome time congrats!
