  1. @tricia-m, I'm a Winnipeg bride too! My wedding will be at the Royal Decameron Resort in Bucerias (near Puerto Vallarta) on April 1, 2014. Just under 4 months from now, yikes!
  2. Hi there, I am planning on having these lanterns at my wedding too. I will have 80 to 90 people attending so was planning on each table releasing one or 2 lanterns. They are supposed to be wishing lanterns so I was thinking of leaving Sharpies on each table and asking the guests to each write a wedding wish on their lantern before sending it off. I'm just not sure if I can get the lanterns in Mexico or if I need to bring them from home. If I bring them from home, what fuels them and can that be brought onto a plane? I've read that some use candles which would be ok, but I think some use an actual fuel type gas, which might not be allowed on the plane. Am looking forward to hearing if they can be easily purchased in the Puerto Vallarta area.
  3. Hi there, I'm also new to this forum and am getting married at the Royal Decameron in Bucerias next year on April 1st, 2014. I'm also wondering what I should plan to bring for decorations, what the hotel can provide, what can be rented etc... I was in Mexico this past January, in the Guayabitos area and made an appointment to meet Claudio but sort of stood me up so I met with his boss Ricardo who answered some questions and gave us a tour of the resort. The resort uses "Paparazzi" as their photographer if you book it with them. I ended up booking Photoshoots Vallarta for my photography as they're a bit more my style. I'm planning on contacting Claudio to find out if i can get the flying Japanese lanterns there, and if they have white paper lanterns with lights in them to decorate the reception area. I have some other ideas for decorations and am hoping that I can get most things there so I don't have to bring everything with me. I haven't decided on the colors for the wedding but I'm leaning towards coral and possibly turquoise. The impression that I got from Ricardo is that they are pretty flexible with things so I think they will be pretty easy to work with.
