  1. I am so excited, We are going to give out Koozies to our guests who are coming. We went with the Neoprene (scuba like) foldable ones as they will transport easily. I have my colors, and I have done two designs. But I can't decide which one I like best, I like the whimsy of the beer can with the arrow, but the second is a little more formal. This will be a fun favor for us for sure. These are the two designs I have done.
  2. My fiance' and I are working on our ceremony plans. We are keeping it fairly traditional but would like to modernize and break the mold a little bit. So I was curious...what non-traditional items were/will be present in your wedding ceremony? And was the result what you expected or were/ may they be "better in theory"?
  3. My fiance and I are going to start scanning our wedding registry this week and so I was just curious where everyone's favorite place to register is? I'm really excited about Williams-Sonoma and Target.
  4. My fiance' and I are interviewing florists and photographers this week. Does anyone have any suggestions for things that we should look out for or make sure to ask when interviewing? I've also heard many people say to make sure that there is a contract signed by both parties for the photographer, any thoughts?
  5. Hello everyone! This week my fiance' and I are having to decide on whether we want a DJ or band. We have also toyed with the idea of putting songs we would like at our wedding on an iPod and just having that play on repeat throughout the reception. So I was wondering...what are your thoughts on DJs vs bands? And are there any alternatives that you prefer?
  6. I'm really glad I found this thread! I'm having some troubles deciding on my wedding colors at the moment.

  8. Thank you so much for your reply. I brought up the questions you mentioned with my fiance' and after thinking on them he decided that he wasn't comfortable inviting them as we are only inviting really close friends.

  10. My fiance' and I are working on our guest list and he really would like to invite several of his coworkers even though he has not been working with them for long. I personally am ambivalent to the idea but my mother has many reservations about it. Do you lovely ladies have any thoughts? Should we invite his not so well known coworkers? I don't have anyone from my work coming.
  11. Thanks everyone! Youre replies have helped me work with my fiance' in coming to a conclusion that makes us both happy.
  12. So my fiance' and I are completely opposite on our choice for hosting the reception. He wants an outdoor reception but I would much more prefer an indoor one. Are there any compromises that you can think of that might make us both happy?
  13. Hello everyone! So I'm about to start the process of researching caterers but I think having some idea of what kind of food we would like served at the reception would help a lot with not only where to start looking for caterers but who to select in the end. Which leads me to my question: do you have any suggestions for what works well or works out horribly for reception foods? My fiance' and I have discussed this some and we're unsure if we should just do a smattering of foods that we both like or if we should pick one cuisine style. So far we just know that we would like to have equal vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as our guests will be from both types of diets (we are also checking to see if we have anyone attending that is vegan or has food allergies). Also is it a good idea to have the food coincide with colors/themes? We don't have a specific theme, but don't really know if we should work in the colors somehow (for example if blue is one of our colors have a dish that has blueberries in it, or if a color is purple have plums or eggplants in dishes, etc). Should we consider if a food is too "sloppy" to serve/eat? Thank you in advance everyone! I look forward to hearing your experiences and opinions!
  14. Thank you so much Sophia!!! Your reply has helped us out a lot!
  15. Hello Everyone, I sincerely apologize if this is in the wrong place. I am about to hire a wedding coordinator and I was wondering if anyone had any general tips for what to look for and what to stay away from when selecting one. Or if you have any suggestions for good questions to ask during the interview process. Thank you!
  16. Thank you so much for this post! I was having some trouble getting started with staying organized and on budget.
  17. I am scared about the process of hiring the wedding coordinator. I have talked to two, and it seems that no matter what I ask, they always seem to just say they can do it. Sounds good, but sounds like a total sales job. They will tell me anything until I get there, and then the real story kicks in. Kind of wish there was an Angies list or similar.
  18. We are considering Moon Palace, the links here are definitely helpful.
