Ok so I need some advice ladies.. Im getting married may 2014 and I've sent out save the dates almost 3 months ago. I know it's still soon but ehen is a good time to send out invitations? I don't want to seem pushy or crazy doing this so early but I wish I could just get a better idea of how many guests we will have. I plan on making oot bags and would love to get a start on things sooner then later but really can't until I have a better idea of how many ppl will attend... Any suggestions??

Is anyone hiring outside videographers? I think the video included with the package is only for the ceremony

hi ladies, ill be getting married at now jade on may 16th 2014! Im trying to figure out what my FI and groomsmen will wear. Im thinking just a white linen shirt and tan pants.. Where did everyone get their attire from? Macys maybe? Also, what type of shoes are the guys wearing? Im thinking like boat type of shoes. Not too sure where i can get them for a good price. Any ideas?

Does anyone have bridesmaid dresses picked out already?? I also want to start checking out places to see what my FI and groomsmen will wear. I think if I dont do it before the summers over it will be hard to find that type of attire in the winter time. I dont want anyone to wear a jacket since it will be so hot but i still want somewhat formal. Anyone have any ideas? or pics of what their guys wore? Im thinking just a white linen shirt and tan pants? Also, Is it weird if my FI Wears a long sleeve shirt but then guys wear short sleeveS? Not sure if i should just have all of them wear long sleeve? HELP! lol

Hey ladies! It's been a while since my last post but I was wondering where everyone was going for their honeymoon after now jade if they were planning on it? My FI and I definitely want to move to another resort to honeymoon alone for a few days but not sure where to go. Anyone have any god spots to honeymoon at? Thanks!

No there's actually 9 buildings I believe but 5-9 are the preferred side. You can definitely ask them to have your guests in a specific building or just stay away from the ones I mentioned but pilar told me its based upon availability .

Hi! We were out in building 2 and it stinks over there. I would say building 1, 2 and 3 to stay away from if you can. It's not Terrible but you can definitely smell it there and it only smells over there I didn't notice it anywhere else . Before we even unpacked I called the front desk and we were quickly moved to building 4 and it was fine. This was my only concern really since our guests will be spending a lot of money to go there I want them to have the best experience. When I had my meeting with pilar we brought this up but she said its based on availability and there's no real way to guarantee which building people get put into. She said they can request a building and they'll try to accommodate but again, based upon availability .

Hey Ladies, So i wont be getting married until may 2014 but will definitely be doing welcome bags.. When is a good time to start buying all the supplies? I guess once I have a head count is the best way.. Also, how soon before should i send out my actual invites? I sent out my save the dates then end of april beginning of may so like exactly one year to the wedding.. I heard you should send out invites around 5 months prior and make the rsvp date 2 months prior. Does this sound about right? I know Pilar needs all the info about 45 days prior to the wedding date.

what are you ladies doing for the bridal party gifts?? I found really pretty necklace and earring sets on wedding shop from the knot.com for like 24$ a piece.. Im thinking about doing that.. I also might add a few extra goodies into their welcome bags.. Any idea? also for the groomsmen also? oh and one more thing.. some of you are talking about paying extra for drinks at the cocktail hr.. arent they drinks included alreadY?? You would just need to pay extra for food i thought?

Yes I just came back from now jade and saw a different wedding every day. The beach is nice but not reallyy private many people watching and some people were even walking around in the back! The pergola is much more private. I will be getting married at the pergola and planned on having my reception on the terrace but after seeing everything in person am thinking about possibly switching it to the bamboo room. The terrace is long and narrow so I'm not sure how comfortable dancing will be . Also, I really rather of had round tables and I think you might only be able the so rectangular tables out there. Does anyone have any advice on this who may of had their party on the terrace?

Hey ladies! I just returned from my site visit at now jade. We were there from the 8th -12th and everything was really nice! There were weddings every day and on sat. there were two! We met with pilar who is really really great! She is very organized and had all my information all ready. She is very busy and works all day long. We went over all my questions and i looked at tons of pictures and she also gave a price quote for everything i wanted so far. I first planned on having my reception in the terrace but after seeing some weddings there it does seem a bit tight for dancing so am thinking about switching it to the bamboo room which is also lovely. The only problems... we were first put in building 2, for some reason in buildings 1 and 2 there is a sewage smell. We asking to be moved because of this and they quickly did so. There is also construction going on next door. Hopefully by next year it will be finished.. Any questions Ill be happy to answer

Hey Ladies!!! Ok so I leave wedneday to do my site visit! Im so excited to get away for alittle and finally get to meet with pilar and deisy in person and ask all the questions i want without waiting weeks to get replied! Im going to ask if i can see pictures of all the flowers and centerpeices so i can get an idea on how much the ones i want will cost. Also, I will ask about the non-religious ceremony since I am jewish and my fiance is catholic I want to see what kind of scripture they will have. If anyone has any questions you want me to find out I was def do so! Also, ill take some pictures of the different locations. I will try to get on here tomorrow but if not Ill be back on sunday! Talk to everyone then!

he has really great prices and hes easy to work with in regards to pricing.. we went with one of the packages he offers but adjusted a few things to stay within our budget and he agreed. We have him for 6 hrs on the wedding day then the underwater/ cenote with transportation included

hey ladies! So i offically booked gonzalo nunez as my photographer! So excited to work with him!! We are using him for the wedding day coverage and a few days after the wedding well be going to a centoe to do a TTD session. Im also leave in 13 days to now jade for our site inspection/ meet pilar/ and vacation.. WOOHOOOO cant wait to go relax ! I think after i meet with her and see everything in person and actually get to ask all the questions i want and get a response on the spot ill feel so much better. ill give everyone details when i return.

oh ok.. How many people did you have at your wedding and where was the reception? Also, do you know what time the disco closes? Is there any clubs/bars to go to near the resort? or you would just have to take a trip into cancun city for that type of nightlife? Llooking forward to your review as well!

Ive been thinking the same thing... since im not really sure how many guests we will have i dont know if i want to pay for the dj but the only thing is i heard the now jade is very secluded and not much nightlife so if everything is shut down by 12-1am im a bit nervous as to what to do. lol

yes ive heard about this resort a lot actually and it looks great.. im not sure how much they charge but i will deff look into it some more. thanks!

So i have a question.. Im getting married next may and am not sure of how many guests ill have but im def going to have a dj.. when should i contact pilar about booking the dj? Also, i know a lot of brides go there with a list of songs and playlists of what to play and what not to play.. has anyone NOT done this and just let the DJ play whatever they wanted?? How did it work out? Final question.. I want to purchase a crystal backdrop to hang from the pergola. Has anyone done this? If so, where can i buy one from and what is the height of the pergola so i know how many inches the crystal backdrop has to be.. Thanks Ladies!!
