Do y'all have to tell your resorts a final head count ridiculously early? I have to tell them April 12th I believe...which I know we should know by then but it makes the invites have to go out earlier than usual and I haven't figured out menus etc for RSVP cards so I wish they'd push that date back a bit!

Finally getting somewhere! People are booking slowly but surely! They have a "cut off" date of February 1st to put a deposit down on their rooms so hopefully we won't have to yell at anyone Found my dress today on the first try and it should be here February! And finally the resort has sent us all the options to start customizing so the stress I was feeling last week is getting better! Lol

I've read through every single one of these and they're amazing! I'm hoping those of you who had a cocktail hour in a different area from your reception could perhaps shed light on what they did and didn't do or wished they had in terms of entertainment? In theory I would love to have a musician or something but the cost is painful to me especially if my new hubbie and I aren't going to be around to mingle and enjoy them if we're off taking photos. But I don't want our guests bored for an hour on the beach if we run an iPod for background music. Any help would be awesome! Thank you!

So did anyone end up using these tasty body powders? Did they work? Were you devoured by more than your hubby? Mosquito issues with that heat and the sweet smells? And I love the cake box idea...did anyone find small ones that were easy to pack? Thank you everyone!

Hi everyone...I'm hoping somebody has had some experience with Wedding Republic? My fiance and I live together and would prefer to register for other things than toasters etc. and wouldn't mind getting some help with a honeymoon fund, all of which can supposedly be done on Wedding Republic. I've tried to find some reviews about the site but am having no luck. I haven't read many positive reviews on myregistry.com and we'd prefer to use something along these lines. Do any of you have any experience with this site or any other registry site? Obviously we're not expecting any gifts as we know people are traveling to our wedding, however, we're already being asked where we're registering so apparently we need to get cracking on these things! lol! Well I started freaking out when we hit the 6 month mark yesterday but now that I've read this thread I think I'm ok! Lol! We only got engaged in October and the waiting-for-people-to-book thing is driving me crazy!! They're telling us yea but then doing nothing about it. We're only just now about to send out STD's so I'm hoping that'll make them realize they need to get cracking! Lol! Reading this thread though is making me wonder if I should just forgo the STD's and just send out invitations? Hmmmmm

Congratulations Wendy!! You've been a rock star helping us, even if at a different resort, so I know the brides that book with you at these resorts will be just as thankful for you!

We're getting married there June 15th and after looking at photographers down there (they look amazing) it was actually cheaper for us to fly two friends of ours who are photographers down there to be our photographers so that's the route we're taking! Time is flying by and I really need to start planning more than the photographers! Lolol! How's your planning going?

Hi everyone... I'm a newbie here but have scheduled our wedding at the Gran Porto for June 2013. I'm hoping that someone can help me figure out whether to get married on North Beach? Or Central Beach? Originally I had thought North Beach because of the seclusion but I'm not so thrilled with the bar and stacks of beach chairs being the backdrop of our reception! The photos of Central Beach (I'm assuming) have the beach cabanas as a backdrop to the reception and it seems much more visually attractive, but I can't figure out if it's too close to the pool? Will it be too loud? Has anybody been and could shed some light on this as my Wedding Coordinator hasn't answered me and I need to make a decision stat! lol! Also, any other advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks... ~Stina
