  1. Hello and congratulations on your recent wedding!! I'm wondering if you could tell me a little bit about the guest rooms? What did they look like? did you guests like them? I've seen pics and have heard some of the rooms are quite outdated and look old....although some of the rooms I saw were 2 levels..? Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks
  2. I actually don't have a date yet, at this point I'm considering April 2014. I would love to get married Nov 2013 but its end of hurricane season and I really don't want to take a chance of my wedding week being rained out. Is is fairly more expensive to marry in oct?? which travel agent did you go through? Im going through FlightCenter in North Van as that location specializes in destination weddings.
  3. Hey Ladies and some gents! I'm really trying to decide if November is a decent month regarding weather to get married in Punta Cana, DR Right now its between November or April, and although I'm really leaning towards November I heard its hurricane season and I'm soo worried it'll rain my whole trip! Can anyone tell me their experiences weatherwise in November. I know its at the end of hurricane season but I don't want to get married and have it rain or storm on my special day. I know April is a much nicer time of year to get married in the DR, but just wondering how big of a chance/risk I would be taking in getting married in November. Any thoughts, experiences, stories would really really help!!
  4. We've been together for 2 and a half years and just got engaged last month!!
  5. I call it my 'Bachelorette' engagement story because the scene that my fiance set up when he proposed to me, made me feel like it was a scene out of the ABC show 'The Bachelorette' So I had been telling my bf for a few months how I eventually want to take him to a local lake near my families cabin, as its so beautiful (we go to the cabin quite a bit in the summer time). So last month on the long weekend we had joined my family up at the cabin for the weekend. Friday night my bf made plans to go golfing with my brother the following morning. The next day comes and guys go golfing, my mom walks over to her friends cabin to visit, and I stay back with my grandmother. An hour later the boys come back, saying it was way too hot to golf and they only got a few rounds in. My bf then mentioned the lake I had been wanting to show him and if I wanted to for a walk, so we decided to head out. We get to the lake and began walking up the trails, and at one point the trail turns to the left, so just as we were turning the corner, my bf says, 'Hey what's that down there?' and as I look to my right, down a little side path that leads to the edge of the water are 2 white carpets, a little white table with 2 chairs, a red table cloth, and a big bouquet of roses in a vase. I immediately stopped in my tracks, put my hands over my mouth and said, 'no, no no way!, are you serious!', then he said, 'lets go check it out'... I just knew right away it was for me! As he took my hand and led me down the trail to the table I began to cry! He sat me down on the chair and we just sat at the table holding hands while I cried. He then began to tell me how much he loved me, and how good we are together. He went on to talk about how the connection we have is so amazing and so strong, and that no one has what we have together. He told me he loves me so much and wants to spend the rest of his life making me happy. He then got down on one knee, pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes, and my hand was shaking while he slid the ring on my finger! We sat there for about 20 minutes just talking about our relationship and how happy I was that he surprised me the way he did. I asked him right away, how the HECK he pulled all this off! He began to tell me that he had never gone golfing with my brother that morning, and that my mom hadn't walked over to her friends cabin, that really him and my brother left, picked up my mom down the road, and all 3 of them drove to the lake and set everything up.(They had rented the table, chairs and bought the flowers the day before). He then said that him and my brother left my mom at the lake to guard the table/chairs/flowers...and I was like WHAT! My mom is here!! He began to laugh, yep...she's around here somewhere, and your brother should be here too to pick her up. They told him to just drive me back to the cabin and that they would come to pack up the table and chairs! We got back to the cabin a half hour later (my mom and brother showed up not too long afterwards) and my mom (being excited as she was!) set up the table and chairs in our backyard at the cabin, had neighbors over and we had a little engagement celebration. (she had bought a cake and had been keeping it at our neighbors place!!) Overall I was completely shocked and couldn't believe how romantic that setting was!! When we had been sitting at the table by the lake I told him how I felt like I was in a scene of the bachelorette and was waiting any minute for cameras to come out of the bushes lol It was an amazing moment, and I couldn't have asked for a better proposal! Below is a picture of the set up by the lake!!
  6. Hey Bride and Grooms to be! Just wondering if anyone would like to meet up in Vancouver, BC to discuss each others wedding plans and maybe swap our awesome ideas, because I know we all have very creative thoughts/ideas on how we want our special day to be!!
  7. Personally, the photography on my wedding day is one of the most important aspects, as it captures the moments, experiences, and memories of that special day. My wedding day may be the best day of my life, but having those pictures to look back on and remember those beautiful memories is absolutely priceless! Important decisions made in planning a wedding such as choosing a wedding dress, flowers, decor, location ( I could go on!) are all aspects that make that special day come to life, but extending those precious moments and everything they include through photography is absolutely priceless!! I want to be able to sit down with my future children and look through my wedding photo album with such ease, happiness, and contentment knowing how all those beautiful details and moments were captured to last for generations of people to view!! What better feeling than to sit down with my future husband and family, look back on our wedding day photos, and feel like we are brought back to that place and moment in time!
