I thought my hair person did a nice job. I had clip-in extensions and she worked well with them. Of the three stylists doing my bridal party and I she was definitely the best. I am sorry, I do not remember her name, but it started with “Eu†if that helps at all. She also spoke English well. Some of the other girls did not like their hair as much, and I think that was partially due to a communication issue.

As for the make-up, it was ok. Again, there were some communication issues with some of the stylists. They also used OUR makeup which I thought was weird. I was expecting them to provide makeup, like they would at a makeup counter or salon in the US. One of the girls in the bridal party did not have foundation, and no one had her coloring, so she was kind of out of luck. I would say that if you have a member of your bridal party who is good with makeup, they could do just as good of a job as the salon did, and you could save $50 per person.

The cabs pull right up in front of the lobby of the hotel and you just hop right in- it’s very easy. You may just want to have the hotel confirm the price with the driver before you leave, so that both parties are clear.

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing which food, drink or open bar, and decoration package you chose, also the total cost for your wedding at Jelly Fish. (we are trying to contract with them for our wedding) Did you do the video? How was the reserve? (My fiancé does not want to stay at the reserve but the rooms look amazing...Do you hear children crying all of the time...I read on some reviews that people do not like to stay at the reserve because of all of the kids...) I set it up through Massiel and there was no additional cost. The cocktail reception at the pool was included in my group rate package through the travel agent but the dinner was totally separate. At first I was upset they would not let us do the welcome dinner at a regular restaurant but the buffet worked out fine and they even had grilled lobster at the buffet that night, so it was still classy. Plus the seating at the buffet is in an outdoor area right near the beach, so it was beautiful.

It was great. We arrived on Wednesday and stayed in Royal Service. Most guests arrived Thurs and stayed in the regular Palma Real portion of the resort. Our royal service butler helped to deliver the OOT bags, which was very helpful. We did a welcome party on Thursday night-- we had cocktails and passed apps in a private area near one of the pools and then they had a private area at the Naos restaurant sectioned off for us for dinner (one of the buffets). I also did a triall at the salon on Thursday. It took a long time, but she did a nice job. Friday was a free day and most people hung by the swim up bar at the main pool and the guys played golf. Our wedding day was Sat and it was great. I rented the bridal suite and my bridal party and I all got hair and makeup done. The guys got ready in our room. We used Arrecife for photos and video and DJ Mannia as our DJ. Our wedding was off the resort at the Jellyfish and if you want to leave the resort for dinner one night, I highly recommend going there- the food was amazing. After the wedding most of our guests left yo head home and we moved to the Reserve. We had a swim up suite there. We stayed until Friday morning, and spent the honeymoon relaxing by the beach/pool, doing excursions, going to the casino, and trying all the restaurants. We also ventured out to the casino at the Hard Rock one night.... Everything was perfect and coming home was very depressing! I was extremely nervous before I went and the first part of my trip (before the wedding) was extremely stressful, but everything turned out great.

we just got back from our wedding at the JF, and it was amazing, the evening went soooo fast. we met with Mayte on Wednesday (wedding was on Saturday) and paid for everything at the meeting using an American Express card and cash. I just got back from the resort and it is absolutely gorgeous. The food and the service were great and all of our guests said they want to go back again. If you have any questions that I can answer, please let me know!

I paid $3 per pashmina, I did not try to negotiate. It is on 27th bet 6th and B'way I believe.

We get two bags each, plus one carry on and we are already there, with lots of stuff still unpacked on our sofa. Plus my brothers are already taking two bags for us! I think we need to re-pack using larger suitcases. I heard on this forum once that a bride used a plastic rubbermaid tote like you would use for storage. Anyone know if that is allowed?? Also, I read on here once that there was a monetary limit as to how much stuff should be packed per bag. Could that be true? Completely overwhelmed!

I packed last night and we have soooo much stuff. It's unbelievable. How are you ladies doing with packing? The OOT bags, BM/GM gifts, decorations, etc, are taking up so much room.

Our wedding is one week away! Getting very excited. We leave on Wednesday Hope the weather cooperates!
 

Yes, we are going forward with it, there is no additional cost, we just set it up through the wedding coordinator (after a lot of back and forth). We are going to meet our guests for a one hour cocktail party at the pool first (included in our package from our travel agent), take photos, and then head over to a group dinner at the buffet. Our wedding is next week- will let you know how it goes!

I just went there today. They have every color imaginable and the quality looks good!

Darlene, we are 45 people and they only place they can accomodate us is at the Buffet.
 

I am starting to watch the weather for punta cana and it's saying rain every day! I really hope it doesn't rein every day of our trip, especially the wedding day !

Has anyone been to punta cana in the last week? How has the weather been? Forecast is showing rain every day. I still have a couple of weeks to my wedding but I am freaking out that it will rain every day we are there.
