  1. Are you saying this from Playa del Carmen? (haha on a side note, it's definitely my goal to be a snowbird some day!)
  2. It was deleted! They are on top of it. Someone posted an ad for their photography. So tacky, makes me sure that I'll NEVER use that service!
  3. We're doing a Thursday! Didn't even consider a weekend.. that way it's in the middle of our trip and we and our guests can have some time to prepare before and relax after.
  4. It's especially worse when there's a Chinook beforehand. I love Chinooks but they make the snow harder!
  5. Maeghan and Angie, sent the 2013 information your way!
  6. Congratulations on finding your dress! I bought my dress 2 years before my wedding date (we will have been engaged 2 and a half years before marrying) and I'm SO happy to have it all out of the way! No worrying if it will arrive on time. If you've found it, you've found it! And really, who would keep looking at dresses after they've bought theirs? It's awesome advice, but I kind of felt like "duh!" as people shared that with me a lot, haha.
  7. Hi Alison, I just forwarded you the 2013 prices for Open Bar, Appetizers, Menu and Wedding Services. I don't think the 2014 pricing is out yet. Hope that helps!
  8. Finally found some info! So anyone interested in budgetting, someone sent me an invoice for their December 2012 wedding. If you're interested I can definitely forawrd it on, but just for information sake, a wedding for 34 guests cost them ~$8,000.
  9. I have been having the same thing at my place Jinele.. but one person said, you want their full attention when it is your wedding day, so when you think of it that way, it's nice that they will (hopefully) be focused on you when it's your turn. I do definitely feel your frustration though!! Good luck kldunning. We just spent almost a year looking (long engagement! haha) and it can get nerve-wracking) but these forums are awesome to help finding a place!
  10. I was just going to offer - if you guys need anything translated, I speak Spanish so I am definitely willing to help out! I'm so glad you asked, fireworks is something we've both always wanted! Could you forward the info to me as well? [email protected] We sent out $500 deposit tonight. We'd like to try to send as much as we can beforehand down so we don't have to bring as much. I have requested that she give me a number if she can once this $500 goes through, but I know 2014 prices aren't avialable yet so we may have to wait. If anyone has a figure, I would super appreciate it!
  11. Just got the info! Would anyone mind sharing what they paid? Or what they paid in total? She told us to just pay what we feel like since 2014 prcies aren't out yet.
  12. Thanks Lyman! You're so nice!
  13. Hello everyone! Originally from Newfoundland, I've been in Calgary for the last six years. Just booked for July 10, 2014 at Jellyfish Restaurant in the Dominican Republic. Super excited!
  14. Thanks everyone for your advice! After almost a year, we finally found a place. I appreciate your help/comments so much!
  15. I have a question: We are trying to pay the deposit and just got the e-mail from Mayte that she will send the bank info. Would anyone happen to have it? I've heard you need to send her the info as they get a lot of deposits and no way to know which one is yours. And how much did you pay for your deposit? Thanks so much! Thanks everyone that has shared their pictures, looks so beautiful! And congrats to those headed down soon!
  16. Thanks! I think we have decided on Jellyfish Restaurant in Punta Cana.. but just waiting to hear back from them! Has been almost a week...
  17. I definitely think it's better to ask; if they say no, you did all you could, but you won't regret not asking & wondering what would have happened. I'm so glad that the your bridesmaids all said yes. Sounds like your friendships are going to change for the better because of your marriage! Thanks for sharing your story with me.
  18. Hello! I just finished making my Will You Be My Bridesmaid Cards, and thought this would be the perfect place to share. It came from this tutorial http://www.glamourandgraceblog.com/2011/diy-watercolor-will-you-be-my-bridesmaid-cards/ I wasn't creative and copied it... didn't use the template though, I just wrote it as is so it might be nicer than this if you choose to use the template. Another tip is that a white pencil did NOT work for me. I used a crayon and it did work so I would recommend doing a small test-strip before doing a whoe care. Our wedding colours are blue and purple so I tried to incorporate that.. it was my first time using water colours though so I'm not sure it worked out. But I'm happy with them! I added a royal blue scrap book page to the inside and wrote a note. I have already asked my bridesmaids but am sending them a package with their dress and a Diamond Candle (candle with a ring inside) to them once the candles arrive. How did you ask your bridesmaids? Only one of my bridesmaids live in the same city that I do, so I took her out for coffee, the rest had to be on the phone. What'd you do?
