  1. Hello! K I am not anywhere NEAR you two girls... so overwhelming! But great that you guys can do that! I feel a little silly posting because I'm a complete amateur in fitness, and don't think I could ever compete in any way. Actually I'm not sure I have anything to add, but here goes. haha I'm also from the East coast, originally from Newfoundland but now living in Calgary. (Although my family is from New Brunswick, and I just lived in Fredericton for 11 months while going to school a couple of years ago!) In a thread linking to here, you said we could share our goals..so that's probably better for me! I'd like to tone up some before getting married, but my main goal to figure out an clean eating diet and getting a work out schedule figured out. I'm not really sure where to start. I'm good for cardio - I'm training for my first 5K end of June, and doing another 5K in August. I'm also a Zumba instructor, although not currently teaching. I just quit because it was too much being new in my career. But I still do it by myself. (Which isn't QUITE as fun, but still good!) I'm not sure how to start incorporating strength training, that's my hurdle right now. My goal is to spend the summer figuring it out and hopefully be ready for the next school year with a good meal plan and work out routine. Sorry you got sick SweetheartAggie, that had to be so frustrating. Hope things are turning around now! & that's a really good suggestion for MrsShoreytobe, or maybe just eating disorders in general - a lot of those people will also need realistic fitness/nutrition advice. Good luck!
  2. I bought my dress last August.. so like 2 years early. I don't know.. I was more stressed about finding and paying for a dress than about my weight. I don't mind at all taking it in if I lose weight. & gives me a good reason not to let myself get any bigger! I'm not a hot yoga fan because I'm a HUGE Jillian Micheals fan, and she says you perform worse during a hot yoga class since you're not in an optimal environment, and sweating doesn't equal weight loss. Making yourself sweat from exercising when the temperature is normal is good, but sweating because it's hot has nothing to do with anything other than your body regulating its temperature. (Same reason you don't lose weight by sitting in a sauna). You also risk injury moreso than a regular class because your muscles are more easily overstretched beyond where you should be stretching. That's just my two cents though, I know lots of people who love it!
  3. Maybe we should start a Year-Down countdown weight loss/general toning.. whatever form? My fiance and I are going to try a 'who can change the most by the wedding' contest. He's looking to build & I'm looking to tone, so we can't really do greatest pound loss. That might be fun here for those of us that are getting married around the same time! Love to hear you're doing Zumba, jandl2013! I'm an instructor.
  4. That's exactly what we're doing! I don't really want to but his grandparents won't be able to come so it will be nice for them. Plus... not gonna lie, I won't turn down a second chance to wear my dress!
  5. @jandl2013 ^ You're getting married on my birthday. I know that means absolutely nothing to you but.. it's a good day! haha

  15. Thanks for the offer Mady. I have the 2013 price listing (and an invoice is anyone wants one) but I'd like the 2014 as I've heard it's out and I want to change my budget to what it will actually cost! I guess it depends where you're from, blueskadoobob. It is way cheaper for us to have our wedding at Jellyfish than to have it here. Our friends have spent $20-30,000 dollars. I do have one friend that spent $10,000 but pretty much everything was DIY, and no wedding coordinator. We are definitely saving money with JF, including our flights and hotels.. and I think it will also be even nicer than the ones we have been to here!

  17. Hey Mady, did you have the 2013 or the 2014 list? If you have the 2014, could you send it my way? stephanie.e.chamberlain(AT)gmail.com
  18. We have our location books, getting quotes from two places with a TA that only deals with destination weddings.
