Dreams Punta Cana (expansive free-form pool, excellent kids club, 5-star, more North so more quiet beach, beautiful gazebo) Gran Bahia Principe (larger complex, great gazebos, 4-star, friendly/lively atmosphere) Majestic Colonial Resort (free weddings, excellent service, 4.5 star, next door Majestic Elegance is 5-star) Ocean Blue/Sand (homey atmosphere, quaint, central plaza, cool coffee shop, colorful buildings, 4.5-star, great service) Paradisus Punta Cana (5-star luxury, 'The Reserve' is boutique resort within resort, northern location in Punta Cana resort area so more private, high attention to detail/service, feel spoiled, gorgeous beach gazebo) RIU Bambu (4-star affordable, lively/fun, basic rooms, nice beach - more North so more beach space, clean/friendly, good food) RIU Palace Punta Cana (5-star, elegant/ grandiose - like a real palace, glitzy, great food, everything central within resort, beautiful gazebo) Sirenis Cocotal (4-star, great value for money, gorgeous and one of biggest beach, basic amenities but good service)

    If this were a regular occurrence, I would agree. But we can't boycott countries over isolated incidences. There is no need to be scared to go to the DR. If you are scared, perhaps stay on your resort and don't go out at 3 in the morning. (They actually weren't on the resort, btw: "Vernon, who runs a design company with his wife, Anne, said the wedding reception at the Bahia Principe Esmeralda resort wrapped up at about 11 p.m. and the newlyweds and about 10 of their friends went off to dance at a disco. He said 3 a.m. found them getting a bite to eat at a 24-hour buffet table.") I don't know, I think being put into jail over Facebook comments, and then failing to have adequate security and being beaten while you're waiting for bail to the point that you will never recover from the brain damage is pretty bad.     Beautiful passport invites! I'm going to try to make some... we'll see. I tried to make Save the Dates too and ended up buying.. I asked my bridesmaids probably... 3 months after we got engaged? So almost two years before we get married. I knew who I was asking though, and everyone is either just having babies or going to have babies or moving or graduating.. so wanted to give them PLENTY of notice. (It's totally ok if any of them can't come, but wanted to make it as easy for them as possible to plan!) I have 5 - My sister is my MOH, my best friend, two friends from my hometown I've known since kindergarten, and my closest friend in my current city.

    For our AHR, we'll be inviting the same people we invited to the wedding. So if they did come, they can come again, and if they didn't come, it's their chance to celebrate with us. I would feel bad inviting people that weren't invited to the 'real' wedding, but that's just me. Same thing for us though.. my inlaws are insisting on it, and offered to pay, so okay. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn't do it. And it's more for his elderly grandparents who can't come to the DW. I understand parents perspectives but even my dad complained to me 'I'm going to have to pay to travel to TWO weddings?" (He lives across the country). I told him no, if you're at the DW that's all that's expected. A headache already! You get caught in a place trying to please people but you really cannot please everyone.. just have to keep repeating that to myself! haha

    Just got a response from Mayte that there is not 2014 yet, as she doesn't know what the prices will be. So the 2013 price list is the most up to date. I totally believe Mayte is super awesome and will make your wedding day fantastic. But I don't sympathize too much with having so many e-mails, because it could easily be remedied by posting some of this info on the website.

    That's a good idea. I've been considering signing up again the last few days pretty much because of this post. Definitely value your thoughts! I know you're in Edmonton but I'm sure we have some similar places - are the specific gyms you like? I might just do a Booty Camp again, I did two and actually found them pretty effective.. just expensive to continue to do them.

    They are seriously amazing. My sister (maid of honour) asked me to try it on and send her a picture since we have basically exactly the same body type, and I feel in love. May get my own some day! The white thing is the tag. I seriously just wrapped it around my waist to try it, I can only imagine actually trying to tie it nicely! They come in a plastic bag.. not the best but they were fine!

    Oops.. kept reading and saw you got purple! We were stuck between the purple but ended up with the blue, both are our wedding colours.

    Oh my, that's EXACTLY what I did! haha your name just seems to be popping up for me here. Perhaps we should share ideas! What colour did you get? We got the Sodalite Blue. For anyone considering these dresses, they are FANTASTIC.. I wish I had bought one for myself! All of my bridesmaids love them. (Although I think one is going to try to hem it up.. I guess you can't please everyone!)

    Ah thank you so much for your detailed response! I am in the space now where I know just cardio alone isn't helping me, since I'm not looking to lose a lot of weight. 10 pounds, max? But I don't know how to start weight training. My gym membership just ended and I'm not going to renew it, because I ended up being clueless and it was a waste of time/money. I tried 3 trainers - one was not the best and ended up getting fired (but they didn't tell me and I showed up for a session and she just wasn't there), one was crazy intense and then disappeared.. asked me to track all of my eating, I created a tumblr account where I documented what I ate with a picture & info, and I think he went to visit another country and never came back... & then another one who changed gyms. I actually haven't found a good trainer and kind of gave up. I'd really like to start weight training, but I'm leery about starting at another gym now that my membership is finally up. I'd like to buy some weights but I know they're crazy expensive... really I'm rambling here. I don't know what to do! I have a really bad habit of jumping full force into things only to get discouraged when I don't see immediate results, so I'd like to start out slow and increase from there. So hard for me but I did that with running and it's the longest I've kept up with anything. (Other than Zumba.. and while that's a great work out, it's not going to help me tone at all... I have my Zumba Toning certification but I mean we use 5 pound weights). I actually did have an awesome trainer when I went to school in Fredericton.He was the best ever... I was sad to leave that gym when I came back to Alberta! Here was one thing I did with them! (Sharing this video because I never get too!
