Have fun BusyBride!!!! enjoy every single minute! on another note... my wedding time is now 3pm, they couldnt make any changes so whatever, Im going to get married on 03/23/13 at 3 pm.... Is anyone gettting married this early? if yes, how does the rest of the wedding timeline look like? what time does the bride start getting ready, what time should guests be on the church, etc. I dont want the party to be over too early either... Is anyone planning on extending the reception time, do you know how much is that and/or is anyone planning on having like an afterparty kind of thing? like going to the resort bars/clubs? Thank you!

Hi Ladies.... I wanted to vent!!!! So I had a confirmation for my wedding at 5pm on the chapel for March 23rd 2013.... well this morning Lianny sent me an email saying there was some type of confussion and now my wedding is a 3 pm WTF!!!! I reserved my wedding since May!!!!!! This is sooo frustating!!! I even placed an order for my invites already! Her options were either have the ceremony at 3 pm or get married on the gazebo..... but I picked BBPD because it had a chapel and I picked 5 pm because it would be an evening wedding..... ughhhhhhhhhh this makes me sooo nervous about everything else!!!! has anyone experienced somehting like this with them???? on another note, I booked tropical pictures through Lianny but now I dont trust they are booked since Lianny seems not to follow up on anything.... Im going there to do a site visit on September and I am looking at their portfolio, etc. I will give you my opinion when I come back I am soooo mad right now!!!!!!

TRivera, I am using apple vacations, and so far they have been great. I blocked rooms in 4 different categories for 7 days. My guests will be able to choose the amount of days they want to stay within the 7 days period and the type of room they want. I had to pay a $50 deposit to start the whole process and this goes towards my final balance (our stay). You do have to pay a deposit depending on the amount of rooms you want to reserve, here is the breakdown: 1-10 rooms - 500 deposit 11-20 rooms - 1000 deposit 21-30 rooms - 1500 deposit 31-40 rooms - 2000 deposit 41-50 rooms - 2500 deposit This deposit is all applied to your stay or plane tix, etc. So you are not really losing any money...Guest have until 120 days to reserve their room and they can do this by paying $50 per person and then have to pay the final balance 60 days before the wedding. I am also using this company for my honeymoon, we are going to another resort right after the wedding. If your guests book through them, they have hotel-airport transfer included. I can give you the contact of the girl who has been helping me. She has been great. Hope this helps!

Hi Ladies.. so I got the following clarifications from Lianny... the DJ has 2 flares not fireworks (she just used the wrong word) and she is getting me prices for chinese lanterns but not the ones that have candles/light inside... Im attaching a pic of what I sent her as reference.... I just wanted to add some more color... these are allowed.

Lianny said fireworks but I'm sure she meant flares ahhahahah How far in advance did she make reservations for your rehearsal dinner?

yeah so apparently... the 400 doesn't include lights, DJ console, wireless microphone, MC, and fireworks. I'm not sure what the 400 include though LOL I think it is the DJ and some sound system I hope... Im going to try to get more clarification on this.

Hi Eva, I got the same type of rates as NatalieBlev through my TA for March 2013. I also blocked some rooms on Barcelo Bavaro Beach since they have different prices, not a huge difference. On another note, Lianny confirmed that to get the DJ for 3 hours with lights, speakers, setup, MC, microphone, and 2 fireworks is $767. She also told me the decorative plates on silver and gold are $3.00 per plate, $4.00 clear and $3.50 on straw. so is anyone having rehearsal dinners on the resort? if yes, how far in advance are you planning on making the reservations on the restaurant? Hi SaMDC1221... They will assign you a wedding coordinator, it could be either Marlene, Susana or Lianny. Marlene is actually the manager. They will send you a confirmation telling you that your date and time is available and they will ask for a deposit (depending on the package you choose) as well as the wire information. At that time, you will have to pay the deposit to reserve your date and then you will be ready to go. Welcome to the forum!

Good morning, So Lianny said that both tropical Pictures and the DJ are confirmed. So if any of you want to book Tropical Pictures or the DJ, your WC should be able to take care of that which is good because we wont have to deal with 4-5 different vendors at a time! Happy monday everyone!

Hi Ladies! So I asked Lianny to book Tropical Pictures and the DJ and she said OK.... does this mean they are confirmed or have any of you actually received a confirmation from them directly? I dont want to assume they are booked and then get there and SURPRISEEEE no pics and no music LOL Also, are any of you planning any extra activities for your guests? I need some ideas please! Congrats Teena84!! I got some new info ladies about the cocktail hour... here are the list of canapes they offer. We can choose up to 6: Sweet Ham Fried Yuca Fish Stick Canapes of shrimp with tartar sauce seafood terrine with saffron smoked salmon with caper manchego cheese with black grapes canapes of seafood canapes of serrano ham mousse of tuna on bread toasts tartlets with mousse of crab slices of pineapple with cheese. I also confirmed that the photo booth is 350 per hour and they bring some hats, masks, etc. She is also going to get me prices for chinese laterns to decorate the ceiling of bar Higuey. I will let you know the prices. They do offer chiavary chairs on white, silver, gold or brown but each of them is 5.50. Thanks!

I haven't heard of that happening to any of the brides on this forum...She needs to send you the bank info so you can send wire and then you send her a copy of the bank receipt so she can confirm with accounting that the deposit was received ... After that you will get your final confirmation!!!! After I paid the deposit I started asking more questions about decorations, prices of additional things such as DJ, pictures, etc... Congrats on getting the date by the way! That's such a big relief!!!

Good morning everyone! so I got a couple answers from Lianny yesterday and I thought I would share the info... Tropical Pictures offers the photo booth service for 1 hour for $350. They give guests the hardcopy pictures. DJ is $488 for 3 hours and doesnt includes lights or MC. The cocktail hour is $12 per person for drinks and canapes. It is not limited to 1 drink per person but one type of drink. If you want to extend the reception time, it will be $15 per person per hour. She told me that the spa cant be reserved until a month before the wedding. So Im going to go ahead and call the spa directly. Question - Does someone have a good travel agency in the NY area? Or online? I have tried to put the group package together with 3 different agencies and they are taking forever. (more than a month). Thanks!

Ohhhh Ohhh That's weird... I have the package in Spanish and it says the reception is for 35 people.... I can forward to anyone in case they try to charge you extra!

The only thing Lianny told me about my deposit was that my time and place (ceremony and reception) wasnt 100% confirmed until I placed the deposit. She didnt really give me a timeframe, I do have to say that once I paid Lianny became more responsive and answers all of my questions.

TRivera- they said those cakes were included... but who knows, they might surprise us with hidden costs LOL. I'm trying to get prices on those photographers, I'll keep you posted!!! also... So I just had an idea, but I need to see how doable it is. Instead of flying someone, maybe find a DR photographer and pay for one night stay for them, that way they are considered guests. Since I am going in August-September I could actually meet them and see their portfolios. Hi Holly! I think the only place that has an extra charge for the reception is the beach. The ballrooms are included in your package as well as Bar Higuey (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) but they are very picky about reserving Bar Higuey because it is next to the convention center. I dont really know about photographers. I'm just going to use tropical pictures and my sister in law who has taken photography classes will be my back up LOL. BTW, I paid the deposit early lst week and have not heard back from them!!! how long does it usually take for them to send a confirmation???? Thanks!!! D

Octbride I'm sure you will have a beautiful wedding regardless of this change of plans! I finally got the wire info and sent the deposit... I am now waiting on the final confirmation. I am probably going to do a site visit on August-September. How long have you girls stayed there when you did your site visits? 1-2 days? did you get to taste the food/cake and pick flowers, colors, etc? Thank you!!!
