After all of this time of trying to book a DJ to swap instead of the live music, she tells me 1 1/2 months ago that Doremixx is too expensive now and that they have a new inhouse DJ. Not a problem with me, so I e-mail her and tell her that is fine. I ask her about the sunset and if there is enough light, or if we can get lights for outside. I just now get a response saying that she e-mailed me on March 17 saying that Doremixx was too expensive and that she never received my response about the in house. And she said that sunset is 6:00 which is the time we are getting married, and to add lights it will be $350! But, I am not sure if she is talking about lighting outside or inside the bamboo room (uplighting) considering I asked her about both. I am just so tired of waiting around for responses and they are half ass at that. Sorry for the vent. I know it will work out ok, but I am trying to figure out how much extra we are going to come up with and with these responses it is hard to tell. Hi Brandi! I'm having the same problem, I would love to stay relaxed about it, but I don't have an open budget and need to know in advance how much $$ we need to have. The most frustrating part of the situation is, after scheduling 2 conference calls, missing a wake a family member and taking time off work...she never called me. On top of that, when addressed by my travel agent and the apple rep, she lied and said she called me and I didn't answer. She also took all the emails I wrote, deleted my text and sent them her 1 response and said she contacted me and was waiting for a response. I am at the point that my travel agent is speaking for me because of my frustrations. I wish you luck, but wanted to tell you I understand what you're going through...I hope it works out better for you!! If you need to vent more feel free to send me a message, hahaha! Kristen
  4. You will not have to pay for their services, but you will be charged for the their transportation ($50), the apostille documents (making them officially legal in Mexico - $165) and the blood test ($250). These are prices I was given in March. The legal requirements provided by the site state: Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive in Cancún 4 working days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count). Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements. For some reason when I booked last year I thought it was 3 days, but that must have changed. Good Luck, I hope this helps! KristenL

  7. Are they reviews you read recent dates? I noticed there were a lot of complaints about ants, etc... but they were from 2010. I'm wondering if some of those issues have been addressed (as much as they possibly can be). Also, they do say that people are more likely to write a review when they are unhappy, rather than when they were happy! I hope this eases your mind a bit, I'm sure we are all going to have an amazing time and beautiful weddings!

  9. My travel agent said the only problem and this may sound silly with bringing decor through customs that they had were items that were labeled 'Made in China' etc...I guess they had 1 bride try and ship her items and the package was detained because of those type of labels. That is the only issue I've heard of at this point. Good Luck!!

  11. Anyone else having issues with 'Reply to this thread' button? Apparently mine isn't working correctly. I even switched browsers to see if that was the issue. I apologize for my random responses that aren't associated to any threads, you ladies must think i'm nuts!

  15. We were worried also, we found this information on the US State Department travel site: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_970.html It will ease everyone's mind...the states with travel warnings are along the border of the US and on the Pacific side...so no worries!
