  4. I can't remember if this was already answered but I emailed my WC last week and still no response so... How much is it to get your makeup done and what kind of makeup do they use? My skin is super sensitive so I have to be careful.

  6. I had never thought about the discoloring from chlorine. So if I were to get like a French Mani/pedi it would turn green?! Ewww! I might jut do what Stina is doing and stick with a Coral color if that's the case. I have a question regarding the bridal suite. Do you just get it or do you have to pay for it? I know the groomsmen get a suite. I wonder if you can just boot them out and take their room if you don't automatically get the suite?

  9. Amanda- It's just so silly that you had to even go that far. Working in the wedding industry especially as a WC you need to be on top of things. I will be contacting Valeria if this continues because with it being a DW I have no control from Seattle as to how things go in Mexico. Let me know what response you get from Natalia regarding a setup quote. Although with TheWolferts saying Valeria didn't seem to mind friends helping out and her being the boss I might just let it ride. I mean I'm talking 3-4 homemade small centerpieces and possibly some orange/blue marbles or something. Nothing big at all. Sorry to vent. I'm just a very organized, punctual person and it irks me when others that are controlling my wedding aren't. Grrr! It will all work out though. And anywhere has got to be better than Seattle. I'm so done with the rain and snow. I need a margarita on the beach stat!!

  12. I have emailed my WC last week but no response yet. We were thinking a 6 o'clock time anyway since our ceremony is at 4 then the time it would take for pictures. I have no idea what the choices even are for it. I hear you ladies talking about a signature drink. What is this?
  13. @The Wolferts I love your aisle decorations!! Are you making them or ordering them from somewhere? If I had more people coming I would totally be stealing your sand dollar placecards! Those are so cute! Is anyone doing anything like a sand ceremony, butterflies or seashell throwing? I read about the seashell throwing(kinda like a sand ceremony) and thought it would be a great idea to involve the guests. I'm doing the iPod station as well. I thought about doing a dinner but just couldn't justify it for only 15 people so what I decided to do was the ceremony, then all meet for the free dinner included in the package- although I'm not sure what restaurant to choose, then all meet on the beach for the reception. I'm just going to have a 2 hour cocktail type party for my reception. One of the groomsmen agreed to MC it with the iPod dock. Every little penny counts! @Stina So sorry to hear about your FI's job. I can't imagine the stress. Sending hugs your way. It's things like that though that will really give you so much accomplishment by pulling this off. You can do it!

  15. Ah thanks so much ladies! So great to have people know exactly how I'm feeling! All of your weddings sound amazing! I never even thought of OOT bags until reading your comments and think that is a fabulous idea! As far as switching coordinators how would I go about doing that you think? I asked Natalia how much it would cost for a set up for 4 simple centerpieces and some luminary bags. She told me she didn't know as its up to the WC once I get there. I asked if I could just have my mom set up stuff and she told me no because I would interfere with the staff. Hmmmm... Looks like another way to get some moola. Anyone else been told this? I think I might just send my mom anyway and see if they say anything to her.
  16. Hello fellow EDR brides! I was so excited to find a forum such as this. Finally (after 3 days of reading through all of these threads) have caught up to the latest post on here. WHEW! I'm getting married at EDR at Gazebo 55 on 10/11/12 (so I know my FI cannot forget our anniversary!) It's been so incredibly helpful reading all of your tips and thoughts. We are having a very small wedding. Only 15-20 people. Originally started out with 30 + but as others have found, with the economy the way it is a ton of people can't come. Today was a VERY disappointing day to me. I had 3 BM's, 2 of which were my sisters and the other my BFF. My BFF has booked but both of my sisters cornered me today to tell me they can't make it. I have been booked at EDR since 07/2011 and they are NOW just telling me this. I think I gave them more than ample time to start saving and they STILL have time to keep saving and it broke my heart that they couldn't make something work. Very stressful day. So now I'm down to only one BM which is my MOH and my FI has 4 groomsmen. Yikes! One concern I'm also having is the weather in October. Does anyone know how the weather is this time of year? I'm working with Natalia at Lomas and she is so NOT helpful. She rarely ever answers any of my emails so I've since began CC'ing my TA with all correspondence to her. It took her 3 months to get back to me just confirming my ceremony site. I hope the last 10 months are a preview of what her communication skills are going to be but I have a feeling I'm out of luck with this one... Also, I was told by someone I couldn't take starfish into Mexico. Has anybody had issues with this? Congrats to all of you ladies! Thanks so much for all of your insight.
